The Cannes Film Festival 2010 is expecting more people than ever before. All hotels are pre-booked and the star-suites at the top hotels will have even more famous people than ever. The Festival's budget amounts for 2010 to approximately thirty-five million dollars. Half of this funding comes from National Cinema Centre (CNC), which is under the authority of the Minister of Culture in Paris, the city of Cannes and other local authorities. The remaining funding comes from a number of professionals and institutional groups, along with the Festival's Official partners. This budget is larger than all film festivals together.

Over one thousand films have been entered for this year's festival. Nearly 5.000 journalists and technicians are expected. 24.827 professionals came to the Festival in 2009. The Camera d'Or prize is awarded to the best film presented in the official selection, guaranteeing huge sale at the box office, worldwide.

The Festival de Cannes has always been the reflection of its era: a centre for all cultures and hopes, a spring effervescence and above all transmission. Defining ambitious and different projects, giving the possibility to budding filmmakers to emerge fast. A showcase of talents with respect for all tastes. This year will see more countries represented than ever before.

An interesting idea comes from Book Promotion Ltd, who is presenting new books and new authors again this year at the Cannes Film Festival. The company ensures that selected books are placed in the hand of film producers, experienced in the specific story-line of the book. The books are hand delivered one by one to film producers at the Festival. A very serious way of Book Pitching.

A list is a few weeks after the Cannes Film Festival forwarded to the author, publisher or literary agent, enabling the author to follow up with a personal letter.

As Book Promotion have more contacts, than they can possibly reach during the Cannes Film Festival and some Film Producers want the book sent to their head office, a limited number of new books are forwarded with a personal letter from Book Promotion, recommending the book. Book Promotion representative has presented books at the Film Festival for eight years and knows the way round the very busy marketing place. As books are also considered for DVD production and for Terrestrial television production, without having been made into a main film, a much bigger and more dynamic opening is created for the new author's book.

The cost to the author, publisher or literary agent for this book promotion service is £250.00. Book Promotion's review panel approves each book for the Cannes Film Festival. Book pitches are then worked out.

No guarantee can be given that a new book will be turned into a film - and the competition from established authors is strong, but it will usually be considered. The 63rd Cannes Film Festival takes place from the 12th to 23 of May 2010.

Book Marketing at the Cannes Film Festival 2010. A unique way of making the right people with possible interest in the book's story-line aware of a new book, which they have interest in. Promoting books at the Cannes Film Festival has been done by the company Book Promotion Ltd for eight years.. This Book Pitching is used by authors, main publishers, print on demand publishers and by literary agents.
