If you are at the stage where you are going through the various design options for a home renovation project or possibly even new house build, you will at some stage be contemplating what lovely design features you or your architect can incorporate into your bathroom area.
This is where you may be interested in viewing some of the excellent features offered by a waterproof bathroom television. If you haven't already come across these snazzy bathroom TVs, you'll think that having a TV built into either your bathroom, shower all wet room would be madness and very possibly dangerous. Of course this isn't the case and as you'll see from the bullet points below, these TVs for the bathroom are both stylish and full of excellent features:
- Freeview is built into the TV as a matter of course
- All of the latest versions are HD ready
- TVs are supplied as a sealed unit, eliminating dust penetration between screen and glass
- The screens are also conveniently heated
- The units are constructed with a water tight seal to meet every wet room regulation
- A convenient 20 inch high quality LCD screen is part of the impressive package
- On screen sensor switch control
Of course these TVs would not be complete without the provision of a totally waterproof remote control unit allowing operation of the TV from your horizontal, totally relaxed bathing position.
These TVs were initially something that only luxury, boutique hotels could afford, though this is not the case now as a reduction in the cost has meant that these luxury items are now quite achievable for many homes.
Having witnessed the installation process of one of these waterproof units I was extremely impressed by how easily installed they were. A straightforward template is utilised to create the necessary recess which allows the TVs backing plate to be fitted. Whilst this is achievable for any competent DIYer, in the majority of cases it would be better to leave this to the professionals. Any competent builder with professional plumbing and tiling staff would manage this simple process without any problems at all.
As there is no live electricity being fed to the unit, an electrician would not be required for the installation process as there are only audio and aerial cables required.
So there you have it. If this kind of outrageous luxury is something that you feel may be an excellent feature in your renovation project, it's worth planning ahead as life will be much easier if the preparatory work can be carried out well in advance, as opposed to completing your bathroom area with expensive tiling and then deciding that you want to add a waterproof TV.
