What shape of Hot Tub should you have? A square Tub or a circular one?

What if,perhaps, you do not want a Hot Tub with fixed seats.

Perhaps you want one with some bench seats ?

For those of us who would like to do some serious exercise then a deep circular tub with out fixed seats could be a very good idea.

Quite simply this would give you the space required to stretch our to exercise your legs and hips etc.

One could move to the edge of the seat and then stretch and turn each leg alternatively as required giving extra exercise to your hip joints. At the same time you can carry out some knee and thigh exercises at the same time.

This is a very clever way of getting more exercise to the parts that don't usually get enough exercise.

Some Hot Tubs have specialised seating with massage systems and these are excellent too but some people might find some of the fixed seats a bit restrictive when it comes to exercising in the water. There are of course ideal for hydro massage.

I suppose it all depends what your main purpose from a health point of view is when selecting a Hot Tub.

For example some people may just want a beneficial massage reaching the parts that other massages simply do not.

Or for some people a circular Hot Tub would be ideal allowing people to soak and at the same time be able to carry out various exercises such as tretching and flexing and the like.

There are various reasons why water therapy is so beneficial.

Not only is water therapy helpful in a physical sense but it also helps to provide that respite for the mind and soul as well. A complete relaxation for the body and mind.

Watsu the very clever combination of the water with Shiatsu is an aqua based treatment that combines the very long established Japanese technique where pressure is applied to the various energy points in the body in accordance with the energy lines of Chi. Watsu was developed in 1980 by Harold Dull who developed the art of Watsu in 1980.

He had,of course, studied Zen Shiatsu in Japan.

Watsu is a system of massage that combines stretching in the body with work on pressure points to release any blockages in the energy system in the same way as Shiatsu does.

Why should one choose a Hot Tub for a Watsu massage treatment.

The warm water provides many natural benefits which stem from its physical properties. Quite simply by being able to float in warm water using the principle of Buoyancy and semi Buoyancy and at the same time supported by the Watsu practitioner. The recipient who is getting the benefit of the treatment will be able to slip gently in to a state of relaxation as both gentle stretching and massage are applied to specific energy points in the human body.

There are of course many other exercises apart from Watsu that can be carried out in a circular Hot Tub and as but just one idea folks with say stiffness in the neck and shoulders could try rolling their shoulders forwards and then backwards gently in the water and allow their arms to gently follow the exercise. By so doing they will improve their strength and range of movement in their limbs.
