Being in your own Hot Tub feels calming and it does enable your whole mind, body and spirit to relax and let go of the stress of the day. It is not surprising then that spa ownership is increasing all the time with home and property owners.

Some folks say that it is akin to having your very own health spa on your own doorstep.

The ownership of a Hot Tub continues to grow, I believe, for a variety of reasons some to provide a relaxing meeting place for couples and families with their children. A place to unwind and find that respite from a day at work and at the same time you are able to relieve and treat aching joints and muscles.

As you can imagine not all Hot Tub manufacturers are the same and in many ways this is similar to car manufacturers. Some makers offer better features than others even on their basic or standard models. Some have much better build quality than others.

There are some very large manufacturers who do not even include what are regarded as essential on their model range in an attempt to save money on production costs. A good example is that of an Air Blower.

In order that you are able to make the correct selection when choosing a hot tub there are course a few points that you should research first.

The first one is what material is used to make the shell. Some do not use Lucite or Aristech acrylic acknowledged as being two of the better acrylics to be used in Hot Tub production.

It is said that the shell represents the largest individual component cost of a Hot Tub and obviously by using a non branded acrylic the manufacturer can save a lot of money but at the expense of the consumer.

Those Hot Tubs that are made with better branded acrylics have always been recognized as being one of the easiest to clean. They also retain their lustre, finish and colour for very many years.

This is very important for the hot tub or spa owner as whilst many folks are very careful about the quality of the maintenance of the actual water in the spa , many do not consider the surface area which is above the water line.

Dealing with the question of water quality there is no doubt that one very important consideration when owning a Hot Tub is the maintenance of the chemical composition of the water.

There is in my view a very important point to take into account in the maintenance of water in a Spa Hot Tub which is very different from that of a swimming pool.

The water in a spa is kept at a much higher continuous temperature and the ratio of people to water is also much higher so that one has to be extra careful to ensure that problems do not occur. For example chlorine is often used in a Swimming Pool but the higher water temperature of a spa does mean that Chlorine becomes less effective very quickly. Bromine a derivative of Chlorine is a better choice in my view and retains its effectiveness much longer.

Sunscreen and fake tan are two items to be avoided when using a Hot Tub and it is always a good idea to have a quick shower before using a Hot Tub to eliminate such Items.

When you consider making a purchase it is best to have the basic understanding of how a hot tub operates and functions as it is in many ways more complex than a motor car.

Also it is a good idea to know what options and choices are available and at the same tome you need to know what guarantee and warranties are offered by the manufacturer.

Another key consideration is to have the knowledge in order to be able to properly maintain the Hot Tub when you make your decision. There is little point in buying a spa if you are then unable to keep the water in tip top condition so that the spa is always available for use by your family and friends.

When considering to purchase a hot tub you will need to decide on the size of spa and then consider what you are prepared to spend!

It is a good idea to have a budget range even if it is only approximate as then you can have many choices and options in the decision making process.

A smaller hot tub will usually cost less than a larger model but not necessarily that much less. As the manufacturer will have more or less the same pipe work and pumps in a smaller spa as compared with a larger spa.

Obviously this will depend on the options and specification of the Spa. For example a basic 4/5 seater spa will cost less than say a 3 seater spa that has very many features.

A smaller 3 seater spa will hold fewer people but then of course it will take up a less space and sometimes this can ,of course, be a very important consideration.

A smaller hot tub can work very well for a just a couple or small family.

As always, it remains best advice to purchase a product that comes from an American or Western, internationally recognized, manufacturer of Hot Tubs. One that has been in the business of Hot Tub manufacturing for many decades.

Then I believe that there is every chance that the Hot Tub that you purchase will last and provide many years of excellent service.

The thinking behind this is quite simple. The well known internationally recognized manufacturer does provide his products with a proper guarantee, then if there is any fault the liability will fall, under the warranty, on to the manufacturer and not on to you the purchaser.

The whole idea as to why they are able to provide such a guarantee is that having had many decades of experience they are able to build their Hot Tubs with the correct quality components and parts, in the first place, therby ensuring that it will not become a warranty issue.
