"It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end."

~ Ursula La Guin

In this forward thinking / goal oriented society, it is difficult to stay present in the now and fully experience the goals journey. Yet the goal isn't the learning process or what "source" is trying to teach us. The lesson is all in the journey. And to stay present and learn during the journey, one must have faith. Faith in one's self and faith one's source, universe or higher power.

What do we mean by faith? We mean a belief. A knowing. And a trust. A trust that our source or our universe is stronger and wiser than you or me and will answer our requests if we just do the footwork and ask.

Below is a meditation. It is the type of autogenic meditation that monks use to the control the temperature and bio rhythms of their bodies to aid them in staying in the moment and enjoy the journey.

Close your eyes for about one minute after reading each step and meditate on it. Then go onto the next step.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your entire head and neck. Feel the texture of the muscles under your skin relax.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your chest area. Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your entire upper back area.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin from your shoulders down your arms to your hands and in and around your fingers.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your waist abdominals and lower back.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your hips.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around the entire circumference of your thighs.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your knees to your ankles.

Take a deep breath and exhale while relaxing all the muscles under your skin in and around your feet and toes.

End by closing your eyes for five minutes and imagine your perfect day from the time you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night. Imagine it as if you are watching yourself in a movie preview hopping from one pertinent scene to the next. Using special effects, lighting and makeup…. Remember to amplify the visions. It is important to feel the feelings, taste the tastes, and smell the smells.

Blessings
