There are so many different December 2012 predictions that it is hard to know where to start.

There are prophecies from some really renown psychics like Edgar Cayce, and Nostradamus, and even the supposed Delphi Oracle.

There are theories and predictions based on the Mayan Calendar, which will end on this date. There are also 5000 year old I-Ching prophecies as well.

Then of course there is also religious leaders that are saying this is no the date when Armageddon is going to be at hand.

Other December 2012 predictions come out of some scientific information. This is the time that the sun is on its high cycle, peaking in 2013, and this is supposed to be one of the worst peaks we have ever experienced.

Some of these sun predictions say that a huge solar flare is going to come at us and fry the atmosphere, as well as kill all life on the planet.

There are also some who predict that there is going to be the biggest celestial occurrence, a grand lining up of the planets, and this is going to cause global gravitational catastrophes, like the magnetic poles shifting.

Some of the December 2012 prediction are extremely outlandish, like there is a black hole on its way to swallow up our solar system.

Others are saying that some rogue planet is going to hit us, like the book 'When Worlds Collide,' and destroy everything we know and hold dear. These are quite absurd and for many reasons.

One is that while there are many back holes, one isn't on it's way to swallow us up. If there were some kind of rogue planet on a collision course with Earth, by now you could see it coming with the naked eye.

While some of these December 2012 predictions have some truth to them, it doesn't mean that the world is coming to an end on this date.

For example, the Mayan calendar does end on this date, but just like any other calendar, it simply means that another five thousand year calendar will start, just like our 12 month calendar.

While it does say that this will be a time of renewal, and there may be some things that will happen, it doesn't say that the world is going to come crashing to and end.

December 2012 predictions that are based on Earth changes seem scary, like those that have been depicted in movies of recent years.

The thing that you have to understand is that the Earth is constantly changing, and there is much evidence of poles shifting, but these occurrences happen over thousands of years.

Chances are if they are happening, it would not only be so subtle you wouldn't even feel it, but we would all be dead from old age long before the change was complete.

When it comes to December 2012 predictions about a massive solar flare that will kill all life on the planet, this too you have to take with a grain of salt.

If it were to happen, then there really isn't anything you could do about it. In truth, solar flares have been around since the birth of the sun, and while many do reach this planet on a regular basis, they disrupt electronics more than anything else.

One of the worst case scenarios that are far more likely to happen is that a massive flare will act like an EMP, and knock out technology back a hundred years.
