What You Can Do To Make Money Online With Participation

In a previous article I talked about the five proven strategies for making money working online and how to work out which one you should chose to pursue, taking into account your resources and personal strengths.

I promised I would share with you my own successes and failures in pursuing each of the five strategies.

Before we begin, it is worth pointing out that these are just my personal experiences based on what has worked for me and the good thing is that there are usually more than one pathway that leads to success in life - you just need to find the best way to make money online for you.

Strategy 5 Participation

This method of making money online is all about services like mentoring, conferences, online training webinars coaching etc for which you can charge higher end fees. It is important not only to know your chosen field but also to have an expert status within it and high web credibility.

If you do something you enjoy and are passionate about then there can be nothing better than sharing that passion via an online membership site, and helping others who share your passion, via your knowledge and experiences. This can then elevate you to expert status within the community and provide the means and opportunity for you to move into the 'Participation' strategies of making money online.

Except for those who already have an offline business they are translating to the web, this is not an entry-level market place. Typically 'participation' services are upsold to existing online customers having built a relationship with them through perhaps affiliate marketing, ecommerce and subscription strategies. It is all about relationships and prospects need to feel they have got to know, like and trust you and the value you deliver.

Having personally built relationships through my subscription membership site, and my information products, the marketing funnel naturally lead to some customers wanting to work with me or to enlist my help. This is where building your business funnel pays off and you have a ready made pool of prospects who are hungry for the same value driven products and services you have already delivered, but at the higher end of making money online.

When talking about online training. Webinars and conferencing it is easy to be overwhelmed by the technical side of providing these services. However in reality most are very user friendly and cost effective for both you and your clients.

There are plenty of telephone conference providers out there if you search the web, all with different pricing structures and many that you can configure your requirements online. You just share the dial in info and there are menus on the call that guide you as well as a confirmation email from the service provider with simple instructions.

If it is a small conference call you can even do it for free online via skype as I have done myself many times. Skype also has a facility under the Tools/Options menu called Pamela, which also allows you to record calls that can be a useful upsell.

Making money online is one thing, but getting paid well and for doing something you enjoy anyway is for me the Holy Grail that I am grateful that the participation element of the internet has allowed me to achieve. I can only compare it to a boyhood dream of millions including myself, of getting paid big money to be a professional soccer player - and that was really never going to happen for many. Whereas the internet opens up opportunities for whoever wants to take them.

If you really want to make money online, then just take action. Regular action, because it really is there for the taking.
