There are a number of factors that we are faced with on a daily basis such as pollution, bacteria, aspects of our diet, and whether you smoke or drink. All of these things affect the health of our skin. In order to have beautiful looking skin you need to protect it from certain elements and also change aspects of your lifestyle before you start rushing off to buy the latest expensive cream that promises you a quick fix.

An example of how you should be aiming to change your lifestyle is you should be drinking around two liters of water on a daily basis and you should also try to enjoy a diet that is rich in fresh fruit and vegetables. Basically, making changes to your diet and lifestyle will have a massive effect on the overall look and feel of your skin. You will be amazed at just how much of an improvement doing this will have on your skin so before you spend a fortune on top-of-the-line cosmetics, try the above and combine it with getting the right amount of sleep every night and a regular exercise regimen. It is also important that you limit your intake of caffeine and alcohol and try to keep your stress levels to a minimum.

Of course changes such as the above are just one stage of a beautiful skin treatment, the second stage of ensuring your skin looks and feels the best it can comes down to the skin care routine that you adopt. Although you don't need expensive treatments, you do need treatments that will help your skin based on your skin type. The three most important aspects of a skin care routine to ensure beautiful skin is cleanse, tone and moisturize.

You should aim to cleanse your face and neck every morning and night. This ensures that all of your dead cells, perspiration, and make-up that are mixed with grime in the atmosphere is removed from your skin. This is important as such things would clog up your pores, which would result in a dull and lifeless appearance. Cleansers are generally used to cleanse the skin of impurities and restore it to its natural oil balance and, best of all, they are available for all skin types.

Once you have cleansed the skin, it is then important to use a toner to remove the last traces of cleanser and to tighten as well as tone the pores. Toners work to smooth and rehydrate the skin as a way of keeping complexions clear and clean. The skin type that toners work best on is normal to dry skin. If you have oily skin then your best bet is to use an astringent as they usually contain alcohol, which will stimulate the complexion as well as close the pores.

The last step in your beautiful skin treatment is to apply moisturizer. There are a lot of factors within our lives that have the potential of causing dry and dull skin, which is why moisturizer is an important aspect. A moisturizer will help prevent your skin's moisture from evaporating into the atmosphere, which is why all skin types need the helping hand of a moisturizer.

If you have normal skin, a moisturizer will be used as a means of maintaining the moisture within your skin. If you have dry skin, then a moisturizer will help to restore the skins natural moisture balance, and oil control moisturizers will help control excess oil and prevent blemishes.

By cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, you will keep your skin looking beautiful, however, these treatments are only going to be successful if you combine them with a change to your diet and to your lifestyle. So start altering your diet and lifestyle as well as introducing this beauty routine to your life and you will soon start to see a change to your skin.
