So it has struck you that the world marketplace known as eBay isn’t just a great place to sell your information products, but also a good place to buy them for resale as well. eBay is such a popular market for eBooks that they are often sold with resale rights to members on a daily basis for high dollar prices. Many eBook resale rights titles will sell for hundreds, or even thousands of dollars a pop. This means that when buying for your eBook inventory on eBay you must use discipline, and have a method to your purchasing madness.

Look for low distribution levels when buying resale rights of an eBook on eBay. You don’t want to purchase something that is as widely distributed as your local newspaper. You want to have only a few other buyers to compete with, and ideally have a zero competition level for your eBook purchase. Buying master eBook rights on eBay is also an option, but much less common then buying the resale rights of a text. Regardless of the type of rights you are after for a certain eBook, make sure you are one of only a few purchases total. If this eBook is being sold to the masses, it won’t make you enough money to pay for the initial purchase, nonetheless any profits.

Buy from experts, and experienced eBay members only. This is an important lesson in preserving your eBook sales wealth. If you have a good streak selling one eBook, be careful not to buy another one for resale rights that is for sale from a new member, or a member that is new to selling eBooks. Chances are anyone that isn’t established in the eBay community will have little to offer you that a more established member couldn’t offer. The difference between the less established member and the more established member is a quality of service. Always deal with eBay members that are selling eBooks for the long haul, not just as a one shot deal.

If you don’t want to buy something, do not buy it. This might sound like the most obvious statement in the world, but far too many people do not follow it. Most people will be conned, or sold, into buying a product that wouldn’t make them any money at all. This is a scam that many eBook buyers are tricked into at one point in their career. Be sure to go with your gut when it comes to buying resale rights, and only buy products you feel can benefit your bottom line.

Take a risk only when the potential reward is great enough to merit the risk. This means that if you stumble upon a niche eBook that is being sold only to 5 buyers with full resale rights, but is on a topic nobody cares about, it probably is better to pass. The reason for this is that the potential reward for selling a niche topic eBook on eBay is very small if the topic is so niche that most people will find the text useless. If on the other hand the eBook was written on a more popular topic, it may in fact make sense to buy it, even if the cost is high. The reason for buying this eBook, and not the last, is that this one has a greater potential to make you more money over the life of the text, then the niche one would have. Always buy products for resale that have the biggest potential to bring home the bucks at the end of the day.
