It is not difficult to uphold a decent reputation but it is also not difficult to wind up with a poor one. Possibly the most important thing to consider if you want to uphold a decent reputation is customer support, here is a few examples of how providing poor support can ruin your reputation and maybe even your business.
Providing top quality customer support should be your number one priority, above all else your customers are the most important part of your business. It is crucial that you make sure that they are well looked after, and if they have any problems try to make sure they are completely solved in as little time as possible if you do not do this, the customer will more than likely request a refund and it is practically guaranteed they will never buy from you again, and if that customer was to go and write a review of your service on a Forum or Blog, you could find yourself in a heap of trouble.
Dealing with angry customers can be very frustrating but there is a very important rule that you should have engraved in your brain. 'The customer is always right', you have to remember that if a customer is having a problem, they expect to have it solved as they have paid for your service.
Try to remain calm no matter how angry or frustrated the customer may become. If you do nothing else other than be kind and honest to your customers you will find that in the long run it will benefit everybody, the customer will have benefitted by getting his or her problem fixed and you will benefit because the customer will realize how good your support is and will then be far more likely to buy from you again.
We live in times where word can spread fast, and with the power of the internet this 'word' is now able to spread to the other side of the world in seconds. This means your business could go from booming to ruined overnight so it is massively important that you do everything you can to make sure you have the best reputation possible and the most important step toward a good reputation is to ensure you treat your customers like gold.
