Richard glared at the screen with a look that that conveyed four distinct emotions: anger, confusion, hopelessness, and desperation. He was sitting in front of his laptop computer, doing the same thing that he had been doing every night for a week—trying to figure out how to complete his bachelor degree. Although Richard had a decent job as an account manager with an advertising company, he knew that by finishing his degree he could instantly increase his pay by at least 30%. All he needed was the degree. Besides, a B.A. would open the door for the promotion to project manager that he knew he was qualified for. That wasn't all that Richard was thinking of. In the past six months, the company had to let go three people in Richard's department. All three of them had the same level of education as Richard—a high school diploma only.

Richard's anger, confusion, hopelessness, and desperation came with good cause. After a week of Google searches, web site navigation, and the boredom of filling out silly electronic forms, Richard felt like there was no way he could ever earn a bachelor's degree. The closest community college was 30 minutes away. Classes were offered right in the middle of the workday, and the types of programs that they offered were not at all geared for Richard's line of work.

Widespread Worry
Richard's frustrating saga isn't unusual. Many working adults face the challenge of trying to earn a bachelor degree. Even though many like Richard may have a good job, earning a degree would vastly improve their situation. Besides, those who don't have a good job can get a better one simply by earning a degree. But earning a degree is easier said than done.

The Online Option
Thankfully, many schools are now offering an online bachelor degree. Earning an online bachelor degree seems to be the ideal solution to the Richard Dilemma. What Richard and other adults want is simple—a bachelor degree. What they are facing is perplexing—an impossible schedule, a time-consuming commute, and irrelevant coursework. There is only option that will solve the dilemma. That option is an online one—earning an online bachelor degree.

How It Works
Finally, many universities are catching on. More and more, universities are providing an online bachelor degree. Earning an online bachelor degree is straightforward. Rather than attend classroom lectures, you watch or listen to prerecorded lectures right on your computer. Most online bachelor degree courses utilize a single Internet portal that provides everything you need to work on your degree—lectures, quizzes, tests, assignment sheets, project uploads, etc. The flexibility of an online bachelor degree is marvelous. Rather than waste precious time on travelling or attending classroom lectures, the student can simply log in and get to work. Besides, most online bachelor degree programs are designed for working adults. Realizing that their main constituency will come from the working community, online bachelor degree tracks focus on subjects that are relevant for people in the work force.

Many people, like Richard, have perhaps experienced some of the anger, confusion, hopelessness, and desperation that comes from trying to get an education and still make a living. The online bachelor degree is the answer. Providing an education plus flexibility is the formula for success.

  • The Two Phases Of The Mexican Revolution (Robert Nickel)
Hindsight is a harsh mistress, capable of teaching important lessons but powerless to change the events of the past or, some argue, truly apply to current issues. When studying the events of the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1929, it reveals some interesting points to take away. The leaders and rebels didn't realize it at the time, but their twenty-year fight was effectively divided into two phases, marked by different motives.

  • The Mexican Revolution: Huerta's Presidency (Robert Nickel)
When the Mexican Revolution began in 1911, it was tough to discern the exact goals of the rebels. They had ousted president Porfirio Diaz, urged on by the new leader, Francisco Madero. The liberal and conservative factions in the country, who'd been locked in a power struggle for nearly a century, were more antagonistic than ever. It was a situation ripe with opportunity for exploitation and power grabs, and that's exactly what happened.

  • Pedro Lascurain: President Of Mexico For One Hour (Robert Nickel)
Popular tabloids love to focus on the shortest celebrity marriages, some of which only lasted for a few hours; there's something bizarre and interesting about seeing an institution that's supposed to last a lifetime dissolve in such a short time period. There's a similar weirdness surrounding extremely short terms of leadership of a country ...but the world's briefest-serving president was a pawn in a larger game.

  • Mexican Revolutionaries: Pancho Villa (Robert Nickel)
When it comes to the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1929, there are a few men who played an extremely large role in the first several years of the fight; one of the most famous is the general Pancho Villa. As the commander of the revolutionary army's Division of the North and the governor of the state of Chihuahua, his role in the conflict was indelible; for better or worse, modern day Mexico would not be the same without him.

  • Mexican Revolutionaries: Emiliano Zapata (Robert Nickel)
Emiliano Zapata was one of the main figures in the Mexican Revolution of 1910, commander of the Liberation Army of the South and still revered as a hero to this day. In his forty years of life, he became a bona fide force of nature. Born to a family of peasants, he was privy to the horrendous treatment of the poor, by rich hacienda landowners, who were able to control much of the land due to the policies set in place by President Porfirio Diaz.
