Unlike more traditional education programs, in which students are constantly interacting in classroom based activities, the online MBA can often feel like a solitary adventure. Without the normal constructs of a campus based curriculum, students are forced to find ways to connect with a support network, engage in peer to peer learning, and find unique ways in which to collaborate. Collaboration is crucial to any advanced degree program, especially as individuals begin to develop specialized skill sets and it becomes necessary to pull together a full team that can adequately manage an assignment or project. This task is distinctly more difficult when fellow students are cast all over the map, as is the case with most online programs.

Online MBA programs across the country have recognized this lack of natural collaborative environments as a huge barrier to delivering the highest quality education to their online students. But with the emergence, and continued improvement of web based platforms, these programs began to see a potential solution that could not only connect students participating in the same program, but could potentially encourage multiple levels of collaborative work across different programs. These online platforms have the versatility and flexibility to serve a number of different functions—including data management, information sharing, and efficient communication—and many programs have begun to employ these platforms to open up the collaborative possibilities for their online students.

The fact of the matter is, is that with the right tools in place, there is really no reason that the world should not be at our finger tips, whether you are an online MBA student or not; and this is a philosophy that the most state of the art programs adopted many years ago. It has been proven that an open and collaborative learning environment far and above delivers the best results among students of all ages and abilities. And with online platforms that we have available today, collaborative learning has been taken to a whole new level.

These programs are essentially creating the business leaders of the future, and it is imperative that they possess the highest skill levels, especially in an increasingly globalized world, where 'best business practices' might change depending on what language is being spoken. The concept of collaboration as a learning tool has taken on even more of an important role in today's business environment, and many online MBA programs have found effective ways to ensure this type of learning for all students.

Having the flexibility of a good online MBA program can help open many doors to further your career. Johney Maron takes education seriously and knows that finding MBA programs that are right for you can take you to the next level.

Popular tabloids love to focus on the shortest celebrity marriages, some of which only lasted for a few hours; there's something bizarre and interesting about seeing an institution that's supposed to last a lifetime dissolve in such a short time period. There's a similar weirdness surrounding extremely short terms of leadership of a country ...but the world's briefest-serving president was a pawn in a larger game.

  • Mexican Revolutionaries: Pancho Villa (Robert Nickel)
When it comes to the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1929, there are a few men who played an extremely large role in the first several years of the fight; one of the most famous is the general Pancho Villa. As the commander of the revolutionary army's Division of the North and the governor of the state of Chihuahua, his role in the conflict was indelible; for better or worse, modern day Mexico would not be the same without him.

  • Mexican Revolutionaries: Emiliano Zapata (Robert Nickel)
Emiliano Zapata was one of the main figures in the Mexican Revolution of 1910, commander of the Liberation Army of the South and still revered as a hero to this day. In his forty years of life, he became a bona fide force of nature. Born to a family of peasants, he was privy to the horrendous treatment of the poor, by rich hacienda landowners, who were able to control much of the land due to the policies set in place by President Porfirio Diaz.
