A rug is an essential home decorative item in most American homes. But as much as owners of rugs are happy about the way these things bring a touch of flavor into their rooms, things become hairy when it comes to cleaning.

A rug can take on a life of its own if it's left alone for a long time without cleaning. Think of all the things that happened before it got that dirty. First of all, humans walk on rugs every day. Next, your pets may have used the rug for their needs while you weren't looking. Your parties may have been successful but your rug may have been one of the casualties at the end. You know your rug needs to go to the cleaners when it starts to smell, or take on a different color.

If you own a rug, you are going to need a complete rug washing system. But some home owners let the pros do it because of several reasons. First of all, there are too many things that could go wrong when cleaning the rug. Some rugs are more expensive than other furnishings, which makes it even trickier to clean them. You don't want your expensive rug to end up in the garbage because you frayed it too much during cleaning. This is where you may need to look at rug cleaning machines

The problem with cleaning a rug is removing stains and getting rid of all the dust. A professional grade rug duster should be able to clean the dust off the rug without tangling the fringes. A rug cleaning machine should also be strong enough to pat the rug enough to loosen the dirt. A duster usually has rollers. Some rug dusters are manually operated which means you will be the one rotating the handle.

Another equipment of note is an immersion machine. An immersion rug washing machine is what is needed to remove grime. An immersion machine should be able to move the rug around gently without allowing friction. Animal urine or poop can stick to the rug too frequently that it becomes a health hazard.

A rug dryer is also needed to get the water out of the rug after cleaning. A dryer is a particularly good equipment to have around because it could take a while to squeeze the water out of your rug.
