How To Find Trusted Prophetic Ministries This is a day and age in which Prophetic Ministries abound. On street corners, bus stations, radio, television and thousands of churches nationwide there are men and women who are claiming that the words they are saying come from the Lord. How can we be sure that these prophets are really coming from God? How can we be confident that these prophetic ministries are not merely humans speaking for on their own agenda? How can we be sure that these men and women are hearing from heaven and not from evil?

There are three ways that we can test evil spirits and discern true prophetic ministries from false. Each of these can be found in scripture. In the verse Matthew 7:15-20, Jesus tells us that false prophets are known by their fruit - by their actions. If you observe a prophetic ministry and cannot visible see any good fruit coming from their ministry or if you see negative fruit, than you will know that this is not a true prophet. The fruit that comes forth must hold true to biblical standards, follow the commandments, and adhere to the teaching of Christ. Anything that is not of that nature should be rejected and thought of as false.

In 1 Corinthians 1:12:3 scripture encourages us to observe whether or not a person exalts Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as Lord and Savior. Does the ministry make Jesus the focus or do they make themselves the focus? Another way to find a trusted prophetic ministry is to ask ourselves if what the person is saying brings life (Ezekiel 37:1-4), gives a spiritual vision (Proverbs 29:13,18). We test the ministry's truth by evaluating if it exhorts, builds up and comforts the body of Christ (I Corinthians 14:3).

A real prophecy will bring restoration and revival (Acts 2:16-18) and also directs you to God and growth in Christ (Acts 13:1-3). Discernment of Spirits is a gift that comes from the Holy Spirit. Pray for it and seek it so that you will not be led astray. It is so important to test all that is said to us and to really ask God if it is truly from Him. Do not be discouraged.

Although there are many false ministries, there are many more true prophets who can bless us and inspire us in our faith walk. God is still speaking today through many men and women.

It's hard to find a Prophetic Ministry that is relevant, true, and sees life through the lens of the new testament. Kris Volloton is one of those few individuals that have found a way to do just that. http://www.kvministries.com/
