Suzuki Motor Corporation is one of the biggest and fastest manufacturers of motorcycles around the globe. It has been distributing motorcycles, compact automobiles and 4x4 vehicles for so many years in almost 200 countries. The corporation was founded by Michio Suzuki in Japan during the early 1900's. Suzuki Motor Corporation is well-known for its very skilled team of engineers who create high-quality and superb performance engines. Through the years, Suzuki brand is still one of the most desirable motorcycle products wanted to be owned by many people all over the world.

In 2001, Suzuki Motor Corporation introduced to the public market the GSX-R1000 Series which replaced Suzuki's GSX-R1100. The first version model of Suzuki GSX-R1000 has engine specs of 988 cc (60.3 cu in) displacement, 4-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC 16-valve, TSCC with bore stroke of 73.0 mm (2.87 in) x 59.0 mm (2.32 in) and compensation ratio of 12.0:1. This model looks very similar to Suzuki GSX-R750 because of their many similar features. However, the material used in Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a bit thicker (.5 mm (0.020 in) than the previous Suzuki GSX-R750. It also has horsepower of 160 hp (120 kW) at 10,800 rpm, Front Brake of Twin semi floating stainless disks 300 mm (12 in), Tokico 6 piston calipers, rear brake of Single disk 220 mm (8.7 in) and Tokico dual piston caliper that's perfect for fast speed racing.

A year after, Suzuki GSX-R1000 was released for the 2002 version model with a very slight modification of its fuel pump, clutch, front axle, torque link, mirrors, luggage hooks, and a new color scheme. Due to the successful release of GSX-R1000's, its engine and chassis were redesigned with an all-new frame and was publicized in 2005. The following year after the revamped, the company decided to carry over the version model without any significant improvements.

Due to a huge market demand for sport bikes, Suzuki decided to redesign GSX-R1000 to make it more appealing and desirable for all motorbike lovers. The new design was intended for both racing and street rides. Suzuki Motor Corporation decided to improve and redesign again the latest version of the R1000's with engine specs that reaches 999 cc displacement (61.0 cu in), 4-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve and bore stroke of 74.5 mm (2.93 in) x 57.3 mm (2.26 in) with compensation ratio of 12.8:1. Suzuki claimed to improve GSX-R1000 aerodynamics to counter the weight increase with an all-new chassis, bodywork and engine perfect for bike lovers. Suzuki GSX-R1000 2007 version model has increased its horsepower up to 191 hp (142 kW) at 12,000 rpm with an all-new improved fuel injection system breaking its own record of bike specs and was later carried over up to the very recent version.
