Have you ever wanted to do something that is really important to you but suddenly had a thought of deferring it, not once, but over and over and then sometimes it just gets forgotten?.

Well, we've all done it at one point or another in life but when it's an issue that needs your attention so you can progress with a defined objective then it can be a setback if it's not done within a given time frame.

Thought is a very powerful energy and when you direct your mind to think about anything, then you immediately begin to create it. The mind is the underlying factor to all creativity and from the mind comes the thought that goes before the action.

Throughout the day, your mind is constantly bombarded with thought energy through circumstances around you, beliefs, friends, interaction with people etc, and these thoughts are usually filtered according to your personal beliefs or preferences before being accepted by you.

If you have a duty to perform, be it at work, at home, business-related or otherwise, then putting things off would not only affect your progress, it could also lead to adverse health issues.

In a recent study by Psychologists at the Carlton University in Canada, it was revealed that stress is often caused by people putting off undertaking a task.

In this study, they isolated five key areas of negative thinking and beliefs which can hamper health and these are:

1) People can only work when in the mood

2) The task has to be to the persons liking

3) The task is to be completed in one go

4) There's always plenty of time to do things so no need to worry now

5) Some people believe that they work better under pressure, so best to leave things till the last-minute

Now, the above five negative beliefs are detrimental to health and as previously explained, once these negative beliefs have been installed in the body through repeated thought patterns, then they become habits that are tough to break.

So, how do you turn procrastination around to suit your cause from within you?

The first thing is to Redirect your Thinking Completely and start from the very beginning of thought creativity which is your mind, and ask yourself why you are putting things off.

This is not dwelling on the effects of procrastinating, such as worrying about the task that has not been done, and the possible health issues due to worry of not having done it, rather, seek deeply from within you why you had to put the task off in the first place.

If a task does not really resonate in harmony with you internally, but nonetheless is part of your required duty at work or business purposes for example, then you may think of Different Alternative Ways that you can do it and still feel happy from within.

For example I knew someone who had a job of sorting general administration for a Training Organization. Most of time she would sit behind the counter and prepare the letters, envelopes and other duties for the training. She enjoyed the job at first, but then became quite bored by the routine work over a period of time.

One day she suggested to her employer that as she was responsible for the Customer Liaison duties as well, it would make sense that on occasions she's invited to meet some of the delegates so that she could answer some of their questions face-to-face, which should help her personally feel that she is delivering her job more effectively in serving the customers needs.

Her employer put this to the test, and the response from delegates was absolutely fantastic. She met them, and then spoke to as many people as possible and answered some of their questions. In addition, she saw the faces of some of the people she had spoken to a number of times, this too gave her some personal gratification.

In doing this, she felt that she had achieved a target that helped her in progressing her job in a different and satisfying way, and which was also beneficial for the Organization.

The same principle can be applied to most things, you just need to think around the particular issue and work out the solution that suits you.

The result should make life a lot easier and remove procrastination about the task in hand.

You may also want to think of gradually testing alternative creative methods over a short term for particular tasks, and then over a longer period establish a method or direction that suits you and which is completely in harmony with your desires.

In the meantime if you have a task in hand, always think of ways you can improve circumstances with your creative Mind Power at work. This should make it more of a personal thing and interesting to you.

The other key point is to always Think Positively about the task you have to deliver, so you think of the actual outcome and how exciting it feels, rather than harbouring negative thoughts about going through the motions of the task. Make it a happy thought, and see yourself actually completing it to the end.

You can Mentally Visualize the outcome on a regularly basis to suit you, and holding onto your vision should help dispel any negative influences or thoughts that go against your plan.

Applying absolute "Willpower" of the Mind would eventually draw you to circumstances and events that will direct your action towards the outcome you want to achieve.

Watch your thoughts carefully and understand that a task can be Split up into different Chunks which should enable you to manage it more effectively.

If you feel that the time allocated to a task is unreasonable, then after careful deliberation as to the reasons why, it's best to talk this over with the people affected or have a discussion with someone else who would give you a realistic and honest review of it.

Always keep away from seeking advice from people who are negative and are more likely to put you off your desired objective.

Focusing your Mind Carefully to digest any task and the actions necessary to accomplish it will help you start the process of actually doing it, rather than procrastination or putting it off.

If necessary you may think of Delegating Certain Parts of the task while you progress with the others.

As you carry out any task, always bear in mind that there could be changes, and this should be reviewed accordingly within your plans, your action plan needs to be flexible enough to accommodate some changes.

Remember always that your Mind is the start of your creative action, and as one successful thinker "Paul J. Meyer once said "Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass"

This is Mind Power creativity from within and when you Master this, would allow you the complete freedom and energy to banish procrastination of any sort because you are working in harmony with your inner creative energy.
