Statistics released by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) revealed that nearly 10,000 women underwent a breast augmentation in 2010, marking a 10.3% increase from the previous year. Breast enlargement is therefore one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK, with the rise in demand outstripped only by gynecomastia (male breast reduction).

Successful Breast Augmentation.

The almost commonplace nature of breast augmentation surgery shows how safe the procedure is considered and many patients are satisfied with the outcome. However, success is often dependent upon a patient knowing exactly what she would like changed, and why. For example, the motivation to have a breast augmentation may stem from the effects of: pregnancy, breast-feeding, old age, a change in weight or self-esteem issues.
