Dog and Dolphin Healing--an Interview With Ildiko Minko

The following is an interview I conducted with Hungarian Film Maker Ildiko Minko.

Her love for Dog and Dolphin has prompted her to set up a foundation to enlighten the world about the healing capacities of these 2 species.

1) Kate Loving Shenk: You plan to set up a foundation for the protection of Dogs and Dolphins.

Ildiko: Yes. THE NYÍRSÉGFIA HUSZÁR FOUNDATION, named after my Dog.

KLS: What do you perceive are the links between these 2 beautiful creatures?

Ildiko: I think they are both Heavenly creatures. LOVE is the biggest link between them.

2) KLS: Dolphins are drawn to humans, and seem to abandon their own families to be with us.

People are also drawn to Dolphins and swim with them, more and more in the wild without supervision.

This is a practice that may have dangers for Human and Dolphin.

Will your foundation also serve as an educational portal for humans to learn respect for the Dolphin, by teaching all about their history, life cycle and habitat?

Ildiko: Yes. We will bring awareness to all these issues.

3) KLS: What are your experiences with Dog and Dolphin?

Ildiko: I have a Dog, a Hungarian Pumi breed. My love for the Dolphins comes from my readings.

4) KLS: How do you plan to get the word out about your foundation?

Ildiko: I have a friend who works at one of the biggest advertising agency in the world. Also I started a topic at the Secret Forum which is a very nuturing environment for my plan. It is called DOGS AND DOLPHINS.

5) KLS: And finally, do you believe Dolphins heal the people they contact?

If so, what are your experiences with Dolphin Healing?

Ildiko: I can only talk about my own experience with them. I think they have an ability to communicate through space and time and I didn't even have to go to swim with them. Healing took place in my life by looking at films and pictures of them.

KLS: Do you believe Dogs heal the people they contact?

Ildiko: My Dog brought tremendous healing into my life.

KLS: What are your your experiences with Canine Healing?

Ildiko: By walking with him, he brought people into my life whom led me to healing experiences. Not to mention MILES of walking every day. That by itself is keeping me healthy!

6) KLS: Please give me examples of how you have experienced healing by looking at paintings or pictures of Dolphins.

Ildiko: I had some emotional pain and wanted to go to swim with the Dolphin to heal it. so I was searching the net the places where I can do that. To my amazement, by ONLY looking at videos and pictures of the Dolphins on the net, the pain WAS GONE. It was healed.

KLS: Yes, I too, have had profound experiences with Dog and Dolphin healing.

I went to Virginia Beach with the man I eventually married.

This was our first date.

We went swimming way out in the ocean on a raft and lo and behold, hundreds of Dolphin surrounded our tiny raft.

Mamas with babies and many others. They were jet black and peered into our eyes. Then they swam around and around, made noises of communication, and kept coming back to look into our eyes.

This went on for quite some time--long enough that I was able to recognize the individual traits of certain Dolphins.

Also, I felt myself lose all sense of "time."

A feeling of eternal, infinite, timeless silence permeated my consciousness, except for the noises of communication between these beasts.

I also felt they were communicating with us, as well.

I felt a "high" I will never forget--a feeling of love for all creatures on planet earth--and beyond.

I felt that I was connected to all living things, to nature and rocks.

I felt everything around me was moving and breathing and full of joyful vitality.

This I will always remember.

Naturally the man I experienced this with, was similarly affected.

And we eventually married and have remained so for 21 years.

We have 2 Dogs whom we commune with, sleep with, play with and discuss them and laugh about their joyful antics.

I believe that because of these Dogs and the Dolphins, we remain partners for life.
