The Nissan Qashqai has seen unprecedented success since it was first launched, and it keeps on going from strength to strength. The latest award to add to the Qashqai trophy cabinet is the CAP used car of the year award that it won for the second consecutive time. The main reason according to the value guide was the consistently strong RV's. CAP is the UK's independent benchmark used car pricing experts.

The Qashqai defeated five other models to win the award, which praises excellence in affordability and practicality of ownership, trusted reputation, retail popularity and innovative impact on the motor industry.

It is not only popular for families but is becoming increasingly popular in the business car sector. This is likely to be enhanced by the introduction of a 1.6 litre diesel powered front wheel drive model. Using stop-start technology, the car's CO2 emissions will be just 119g/km.

Of the Qashqai's win, a representative from CAP said that by: "marrying the practicality of a people carrier with the looks of a quality 4x4" it provided a combination of economy, handling, strong build quality and reliability, which made it the "perfect used car for our time."

85% of the Qashqai's sold in the UK are lower emission front wheel drive versions. It was the eighth most popular model to be used as a fleet car for businesses. It was also in the top three for Motability registrations. No other car in the UK is made in such significant numbers as the Qashqai; an average of 1,200 Qashqai's are produced every day. Production at the Nissan Sunderland plant has been 24/7 for over a year now to meet the spectacular demand at used Qashqai Essex dealers and beyond.

As a compact crossover the Nissan Qashqai has a sleek exterior design, yet still works as a strong family car. Now available in a 7 seater model the Nissan Qashqai has become even more popular amongst families, with the need for heavy shopping, doing the school run, and more.

The Nissan Qashqai boasts a good suspension along with a well weighted steering, helping to provide the Nissan Qashqai with a controlled driving experience. Additional features such as stability control, various airbags and even anti-whiplash restraints ensure maximum safety in this vehicle.

The Nissan Qashqai may look slightly odd at first, and wont be for everyone. I may not be your first choice compared to other crossovers in the same range, but it will grow on you as time goes on.
