For most mothers, their best mummy time is when they are being a mum. They enjoy being with their family so much that they do not feel the necessity of mummy time. However, every woman needs some time to spend with herself, when she can think, hear her inner feelings and tackle any confronting issues that may have presented themselves. The same rule applies to mums as well; you need to take some time out from your daily grind and use these precious moments to refresh and rejuvenate yourself.

As a mum, time always seems to have diminished; you are not able to accomplish your daily chores, let alone getting some "you" time for yourself. Leisure time seems non-existent; and even if you are able to grab a few minutes for yourself, you start feeling guilty for not spending it with your family. However, you need to understand that mummy time is important for you to recharge your batteries, so to speak. To fill you with more enthusiasm and liveliness to be the best mum you can be. So get rid of these guilty feelings and try to self-indulge so you can spend more quality time with your family. You need just spare a few minutes from your busy schedule to be recharged all over again.

Just relax yourself; don't think of any commitments, schedules or "to do" lists and give up your guilt; look for something creative that you enjoy. Grab a few minutes by waking up an hour before the kids or staying up an hour after they go to bed. Use this time to read a book, take a soothing shower, a luxurious bath or simply sit back, reflect and meditate. You can schedule a lunch or an evening with your girlfriends. When you go shopping for those essential grocery items, make your trip worthwhile by taking an ipod and playing your favorite music while you shop. Get yourself a smoothie and enjoy your shopping experience. Walks are also a great way to unwind; they are good for your body and mind; it is even better if you can meet up with your neighbors and chat awhile. Another great "you" time is to go for a manicure or a massage. Get your husband or a friend to watch the kids for a couple of hours.

Taking these small breaks can do wonders for your attitude and will enhance the time you spend with your family. Beat the mummy blues and revitalize yourself with some mummy time.
