If you've been trying for months...maybe years to make money on the Internet without success, or if you're brand new to this idea but don't have an inkling of what to do, hiring a mentor or coach can be the answer to your prayers.

Let's explore exactly what a online mentor or coach is and what they can do for you.

Mentors come in all sizes and forms. Anyone who you consider tops at their game and is someone who has helped you to achieve success or understanding in your field can be considered a mentor. Generally speaking, a relationship with a mentor is a more informal relationship. For example, you may have gotten to know a marketer that you respect and that is considered an expert in your niche. Now that you're friends, you're able to bounce questions off of him and expect to receive answers.

When you think about it, mastermind groups can also be considered mentors. After all, you bounce ideas off of them as well as getting feedback and guidance. Additionally, they can help you to overcome obstacles you may have encountered. Bear in mind, they also hold you accountable and expect that you follow through.

A coach on the other hand is a more formal relationship. A coach gets paid to show you step by step what to do. There are many Internet marketers that are launching very successful coaching programs. A true coaching program is not one that only offers a lot of material for you to study, but a true coach will always make himself available for you to contact personally to get answers to questions or queries you may have.

Taking it a step further, hiring a private coach will allow you to work directly with them. This can really ramp up your business fast, but unfortunately for most beginners, the cost is just too high.

There are many marketers who offer coaching services and the trick to success is to find the best fit for you. First and foremost, you must be able to trust them and resonate with what they say and what they are teaching. Check out the business model that they follow and make sure it is one that you want to use also. For instance, if you want to learn how to have a successful eBay business, you wouldn't hire someone who is teaching only article marketing.

Like everything else in life, the more successful and well known the marketer is that you have chosen to work with, the higher price tag his course will come with. Doing your homework ahead of time, you might be able to find a lesser known successful marketer who offers better prices and will have the time to be more accessible.

Choosing to partner with a mentor or coach that has achieved the kind of success you are after in your own field is one of the quickest way to experience success for yourself. Remember, they have "been there and done that" so they have experience with what works. They can shorten your learning curve tremendously.

Hiring the proper coach or using the right mentor can speed your business along...but, only if you apply what is taught to you. Nothing will happen unless you take action and implement what has been taught to you. That's where your own personal commitment comes in
