Bed bugs are a nasty bug that invades the home, and comes out at night and feeds on humans. An infestation of bed bugs can be very difficult to get rid of as they only come out at night, are very small and hard to see, and they hide in places that are inaccessible to humans. Bed bugs are attracted to the home by pheromones given out by other bed bugs already in the home. They are also attracted to carbon dioxide and heat given off by the human body.

There are many treatments that can help eradicate bed bugs, but many involve insecticides and pesticides that can be harmful to humans and pets. Often times a home owner will have to leave the home for many hours as well as covering items that should not be exposed to chemicals. This can become an incredibly time consuming preparation for the treatment to get under way. Most home owners do not want to have to deal with all this extra work to rid their house of bed bugs.

As with all chemical insecticides, bugs become immune to certain pesticides, and they no longer kill the pests they are meant to making all the prep time a waste of time as well as a waste of money. A bed bug heat treatment can be a great solution to this problem. Placing a mattress outside in the heat of the sun will kill bed bugs. If the bed bugs are already hatched, a heat treatment of this sort will usually kill the bugs within 15 or 20 minutes, and unhatched eggs will need an hour of heat before they are killed. While this particular heat treatment is certainly cost effective, bed bugs also live in cracks within walls and floors, baseboards, and other wood objects found within the home. However, sun heat treatment will not work for these areas. Another heat treatment has to be used.

A bed bug heat treatment using steam is available to help with this problem. Heated steam can be used on any mattress or other furniture without the use of pesticides and will not harm your furniture. This method can also be used on floors, walls, and any other areas a bed bug can hide. Many times heat can go through a wall or floor, while the use of pesticides may not be able to reach those areas. Three separate treatments are usually advised to make sure all areas of hiding are covered thoroughly. As well if the heat applied to an area is a gradual heating, the bed bugs will have the chance to scatter and find a more suitable hiding place.

Bed bug heat treatments using steam is a fast heat and more apt to work in the way it is intended. This is an effective and quick treatment to use, as it does not involve harmful chemicals and home owners will not have to vacate the house for hours at a time. This chemical free solution saves time and worries about the health of all who live in the home.

As the leaders in bed bug control, they use the latest in bed bug heat treatment methods to eliminate all bed bugs in an effective and eco-friendly manner.
