The electronic cigarette, or better known as the e-cigarette, is an electrical device that stimulates tobacco smoking by producing the inhalation of mists which provides the appearance, physical sensation and sometimes the flavor of nicotine in traditional cigarettes. But if it is that much similar to traditional cigarettes, why should we choose this instead? It is because the e-cigarette is without the foul odor and it is also intended to omit the health risks associated with tobacco smoke.

The concept of an electronic cigarette was first seen in a patent acquired by Herber A. Gilbert in the year 1963. But, due to the limitation of technology during that time, and the lack of acceptance that tobacco was harmful, the device never reached manufacturing. Today, this modern day e-cigarette was invented by a Chinese pharmacist in the year 2003, and it was then introduced into the market the following year.

All the electronic cigarettes share three essential components namely the cartridge, atomizer, and the power supply. The cartridge serves as a mouthpiece and usually doubles up as a small reservoir holding the liquid that is to be vaporized. On the other hand, the atomizer serves as the heating element which is responsible for the liquid vaporization. Needless to say, the power supply functions as a battery. Other electronic components that are necessary for operation are housed within this power unit.

However, there is also a part known as the cartomizer, which is another option that is available for most models that users could opt for. This part is a single integrated piece which replaces the cartridge and also the atomizer components. The cartomizer is disposable but there are also single atomizers which are reusable. The single atomizers are also comparatively more costly than its disposable counterpart. Most of the reusable components of the electronic cigarettes are manufactured in accordance to some standards for their threaded fittings, making them interchangeable.

The liquid used to produce the vapor in the e-cigarettes are usually sold as separate bottled products for the use of refilling, and also as non-refillable disposable cartridges. These bottled liquids are sold under a wide variety of names which include, e-liquid, nicotine solution, and even e-juice. The contents of the solution may vary, but the common aspects of these liquids are water and also flavorings in a propylene glycol base. Nicotine is also included in the solution with the intent to replace the role of nicotine.

There are hundreds of selections of flavors. Some of these flavors were attempted to resemble the traditional cigarette types such as the regular tobacco, menthol, and some even claim to resemble the smell or taste of specific cigarette brands.

Electronic cigarettes can be a good alternative to traditional smokes, but many people still question the overall impact. A good quality electronic cigarette can last years and will surely save money in the long run. To find out more information about ecigs, please visit: =>http://buy-electronic-cigarettes.org/
