Mobile classrooms or portable buildings are becoming a solution for the future of our schools. Their building incorporates green technologies that have a positive impact on the environment.
Savings on operating and energy costs has been the main motivator for green portable buildings. However, you will not just save money, you will be able to promote an awareness of the importance of the eco-friendly solutions for portable buildings.
Savings can be obtained from operating costs of green portable buildings. The school mobile facilities can run more efficiently and will last longer. There is an improvement of the return on investment of green portable buildings and they are energy efficient and cost effective. Inclusion of renewable resources, high efficiency HVAC systems or more energy efficient are features that make portable buildings more efficient to operate as they require lower cost to maintain.
School buildings should reflect advances in technology besides providing a pleasant environment for learning. Modern materials, building techniques can be used to create innovative learning environments that would inspire children to grow up wishing to preserve their planet.
Mobile classrooms can be used as science laboratories, music rooms or any other special purpose space you might need for your school. They can be safer than the main school building if you incorporate special security features such as toughened glass, blackout blinds or extra locks.
If you decide to use a mobile classroom or a portable building to meet your school needs, you can apply for grants offered to those who use green technology in manufacturing modern modular classrooms.
There are hundreds of grants, loans and financial incentives available for schools looking to make building improvements, especially when the improvements are going to be eco friendly.
The government in England supports programs for sustainable schools. The Low Carbon Buildings Programme has been available since 2006 and 3000 grants were provided to schools and other non-profit organizations. The programme offers assistance for purchasing and installing electrical and thermal microgeneration technology. Phase-1 and Phase-2 of the programme closed on February 3rd 2010.
However, the scheme ends on the 1st of April 2011 when a new programme will be introduced. The programme offers incentives for Renewable Heat technologies.
Technologies that are supported by this type of grant included solar photovoltaic's, micro-wind turbines, micro-hydro turbines, solar thermal hot water, heat pumps, wood fuelled boilers and automated wood pellet stoves. Use of such technologies must meet a value threshold which reflects the quantity of carbon savings for each pound of expenditure on their installation.
The grants offered allow reimbursement of costs related to the equipment, installation, warranty and other materials and work related to the installation of the new equipment. Costs related to project management or design and feasibility studies are excluded.
Although this is one of the larger schemes that have been on offer, it is just one example from a list of hundreds of funding options available to schools in the UK and a testament to the dedication society in general is showing when it comes to building a greener future.
Portable buildings are a cost effective method to enhance the space of your school. You can also save time by choosing a mobile classroom, since it will be ready to use in a much shorter interval. All these savings will not be accompanied by a decrease in the quality of portable building. The environmentally friendly technologies incorporated in modern portable buildings will have a beneficial impact on the quality of education offered by your school.

The average adult has about six litres of blood within their body. We do have a small amount of surplus blood in stock, however this can quickly diminish if a wound opens on the skin. The majority of the time we suffer minor wounds that have the capacity to heal themselves. However in more serious circumstances major bleeding can occur, which requires fast thinking in order to stem blood flow, and ultimately save a life. - Mexican Revolutionaries: Emiliano Zapata (Robert Nickel)
Emiliano Zapata was one of the main figures in the Mexican Revolution of 1910, commander of the Liberation Army of the South and still revered as a hero to this day.
