Personal injury lawyers seem to be very visible in every community occupying the majority of advertising forums such as billboards, yellow pages as well as TV commercials. Unfortunately, the messages in their ads do not resonate well with the public that believes we have too many lawyers and all they really want is money. The truth is lawyer ads are far from convincing or entertaining and that the public is not educated enough to see the value of injury lawyers to society.

Selling a product or a service is an art and only a very few percentage of the sales force has what it takes to sell stuff that people don't really need or want (which is the majority of the products). However, there is a simple system that almost every lawyer can learn and use:

Problem. The customer has to be in pain or must have a problem that causes him some headache. This can be in the form of a real problem, or just a good old fashioned envy or greed.

Solution. You must have the solution to the problem or the medicine to kill the pain. This can be a service that fixes a leaking roof, or a diamond ring that the client cannot resist to buy.

Reverse the risk. If you want to sell anything these days, you must take the risk on yourself, that is, the customer should be able to undo the sale if he does not like the item. Things like 30-day money back guarantee or lifetime warranty come very handy.

Affordability. The product or the service must be affordable, that is, the customer should not have to take out a second mortgage to buy the cooking knives that you are selling.

Return on the investment. There must be a sizeable return on the investment either in monetary value or in the form of personal pleasure.

It is not too difficult to see that if any one of the above conditions is missing, the deal becomes less attractive. However, if I have a problem to which you offer an affordable solution risk free with a decent return on the investment, it is hard to say "I am not interested." Let us see how this system would work with injury lawyers:

Problem. You have been injured, you are hurt, got medial bills stacked up to the ceiling, etc. You've got a serious problem combined with pain and suffering.

Solution. The lawyer handles just about everything: the medical bills, the insurance company, the investigations, the paper work, you name it.

Reverse the risk. This one is easy: no compensation no fee, that is, your risk is zero!

Affordability. Personal injury lawyers work on a contingency bases, that is, it is a "sign and drive" scheme, you have zero costs!

Return on the investment. You invested nothing, did absolutely nothing other than answering some questions, and got a decent compensation, often far better than expected.

In summary, your pain and suffering is dealt with by a competent injury lawyer with zero out of pocket costs and zero risk, and giving you compensation while you are recuperating from your injuries. This sounds like a solid business decision and has nothing to do with all the media hype and the mind numbing ads. You have a serious issue that needs a cheap (zero dollar) solution without you having to run around in circles and suffering even more pain than you already have. In times like this personal injury lawyers are your best business partners.

iBiz Solutions provides online business support for small and medium sized firms. If you have been a victim of negligence, hiring a personal injury lawyer is a sensible business decision.
