I was brought up a very strict Catholic.

When I was 19, and drafted into the army, I fell away from the church somewhat. Now, about 35 years later I am going with my wife to church again.

Last Sunday they sang a couple of patriotic songs that I don't usually hear in church. In fact I hardly ever hear them anymore. Well I was getting goose bumps and even a little teary eyes listening to these songs I used to hear so often. Then it dawns on me! They both have reference to God or some other form of Goodness. That's right! We aren't allowed to have the Ten Commandments or other religious items displayed in many public places. Guess that goes for songs too? Hmmm.... Okay. I can watch all sort of horror, negative things, and trash on TV. I hear all sort of profanity coming from other people's car radios. All the daytime shows.... well...

Sure I could keep the TV off and stay inside like a hermit. It doesn't seem fair that I have to give up my freedom though.

Freedom of speech is a good thing, but there has to be some "decent" standards. Everyone needs to be responsible for what they say and do.

Young children are watching things on daytime TV that would never be on even at night in the past. You remark "But you don't have to allow them to watch it". Well many people do! Even cartoons are negative images of crude trash these days. The children can't constantly make the right choices. You have to gently guide them. Show them good examples.

How the heck did our great U.S.A. get to this point? Will the nation ever wake up and grasped what they are throwing away?

Ninety percent of drivers has no respect for traffic laws. They won't use turn signals to change lanes or make turns. They speed (Duh). Tailgate instead of going around. Maybe there's something in the water?

But it's okay. Things will get better. They have to I believe as we cannot last long on our existing path. So if you pray then keep praying. Try to do the "Right Thing". You will surely benefit from it. Positive actions bring you positive results. Negative actions will drag you down emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Ok I will stop rambling on for now...

This article is different from most I write. It's just that I got emotionally fired up.

If it's okay with you let me say "God Bless You!"
