Television as an industry has only really been around since the 1950's but ever since people have been watching TV they've wanted to be able to take it with them. When TV was still analog, all the way through the early 2000s, people would take small black and white TV's that were battery powered when they'd go camping and spend quite a bit of time fiddling with it to get a signal. Today, however, watching mobile TV virtually anywhere you go is a snap, all because of sling technology.

A Slingbox or Sling adaptor connects between your satellite TV system and the internet to "sling" streaming video across the net. Whether it's a separate device or one that's built into your DVR, you'll be able to watch your TV subscription and even access the content on your DVR anywhere you've got an internet connection. Here are some ways you can watch TV anywhere you want:

1. Since you'll be able to watch TV on any internet connected device, if you've got your laptop at a hotel on a trip, you'll still be able to watch your shows and catch your local news, even if you're at a hotel half way around the world.

2. With the advent of 3G and 4G technology and the speeds you can get for data transfer on cell phones, anywhere you can get a signal means you can actually watch TV on your smart phone. There are apps for the iPhone and Android phones that put your TV right in the palm of your hand. This means if you're in a bus or on a train, you can still catch the morning news or keep track of the stock market.

3. With a tablet PC and Wi-Fi, you can still watch TV everywhere in your home. You don't have to have a dedicated TV in every room anymore, all you have to do is carry the tablet and you'll never have to miss a second of your favorite show.

4. One problem on weekends is that chores still have to be done. Cars need to be maintained and yards need to be mowed but getting outside and relaxing is important too. You can even strap a tablet PC to the steering wheel of your riding mower so you don't have to miss one single play.

5. On long trips, as consistent as cell phone coverage has gotten, the kids can still keep themselves entertained watching TV on smart phones and 3G/4G enabled tablets and even watching the movies you've recorded for them on the DVR. Definitely gives them something to do instead of saying "Are we there yet?".

Sling technology has removed the restrictions to watching mobile TV. No longer are you stuck in situations where you can't watch your shows, can't watch the game and are bored waiting for a flight or whatever. As long as you've got an internet connection, whether it's on a smart phone in a bus or a Wi-Fi signal at an airport, restaurant or hotel room, you've got TV. Your TV, your way.

With today's technology, watching TV anywhere you want is now easy especially with DISH Remote Access. Landon Christian loves his shows so he researched DISH Network Video on Demand and Remote Access to see if they would work for him.
