Today in a vast country where we strive on independence and capitalism our only statement is, "Hey, at least I have a job". So many times in the last six months wherever I went and whatever I did this common phrase was heard. Realizing that there are a lot of people out of work today we easily fall into this rut of gratitude but still something missing.

There are many people I know that will keep doing their profession because they love what they do and it is a lot more than the money. Many of these people I find in this category are the teachers, doctors, and nurses. Although I am sure that there are many more who love what they do. I have a friend who has been a cashier at Walgreen's for fifteen years and exclaims how she loves meeting new people each day and that is satisfying for her. Every person ticks a different way and I think it is absolutely wonderful to have a profession you are passionate about and can't wait to wake up each morning to serve and give of all your talents.

However, with the cost of living and stresses on more than one income to hold it together people need other alternative routes to expand their financial horizon. I think people should keep the day job but always be growing when they are off the time clock per say. There are many ways to make great use of time today and sometimes it means just missing your favorite television show and instead creating an income on the side. It takes discipline and change to create something outside of what you are already doing but in the long run not only you will benefit but your family will as well. I know that is the main reason I want a child because with all my hard work I want someone to reap the benefits and have it a little easier than I did. Although this economy seems to have minimized our opportunities there is still so much out there and in any economic time in history nothing stays the same as we will once again be a wealthy country full of American Dreams.

In conclusion, what part time efforts are you making even if you love your job? Can you grow to a higher place than you are now? Many opportunities are right in front of everyone on the internet. Maybe we could have more creativeness and better time management so we can turn a tough time in history into a better time in our own personal growth.

I love my full-time job but what are my other part-time opportunities?
