Introduction

There are a number of different jobs that the United Kingdom markets are trying to fill in today's world and when it comes right down to it, a number of these jobs are going to constantly have openings available simply because of the safety concerns that regulate how the people that are in that profession operate. Security guards are of course one of those jobs and another one of those jobs that people don't really talk about that often are fire jobs. In other words, the fighting of fires and the disaster relief that comes with it are jobs that a lot of people do in the United Kingdom, but also one that a lot of different people don't really think about all that often.

Danger Pay

One of the most appealing aspects of a lot of different fire jobs to the people that work those jobs is the fact that they get a lot of danger pay. Danger pay is something that is given above and beyond the actual pay rate per hour and it is paid to people that are being put in dangerous situations. Police officers get danger pay and so do security guards. The people that fill fire jobs quite often end up getting a lot more danger pay simply because they are dealing with a potentially life threatening situation directly every time they suit up and go out into the field. They are dealing with fire and in most cases very large fires that are going to be personally dangerous to them to fight and therefore the danger pay scale reflects that fact.

Training

A lot of the training for the fire jobs of today is training that is given out by some branch of government. There are fire academies, just like police academies, that people go to in order to get the appropriate training for the job market that they are planning to be a part of. Ultimately, the training that these people get there is what will help them in the performance of their fire jobs later on. And that is why this type of training is very important to receive. It is also important to note that the fire academy is different from a college or university; usually, it is its own separate institution and all of the things taught there are essential for a fire person to understand and appreciate.

Assignment

Once a person has graduated the fire academy and is ready to start work at one of the fire jobs available around, what people frequently see is that the fire jobs themselves are readily available to start in. This is because firefighting is an essential service in every city and therefore they are always looking for more people to be a part of their service. These services are available in every town in the United Kingdom, so whenever a new firefighter goes through the fire training school and graduates, there are always going to be a number of different places available to them to find work.
