If you are an immigrant or foreign exchange student living in the US, you more than likely have experienced a certain amount of culture shock. Not only is there a language barrier, there is a certain home-sickness that comes when you leave everything that's familiar to you. One way you can ease the difficulties brought on by living in a strange place is by watching familiar TV programs. With the recent advancements in satellite television technology, you now have more ways to watch international television stations than you have ever had before.

For example, if you are a Chinese student attending college in the US, with certain satellite TV providers you have access to almost 40 Chinese language channels. If you are visiting from Germany, you can get 24-hour-a-day German news, sports, classical programming and your favorite local German talk shows.
