If you live in Birmingham and are looking for work then there are a number of steps that you need to take in order to find suitable employment. As such, consider these basic steps on how you can find and get jobs in Birmingham.

Step number one will involve working out the work you want to actually engage in. Are you looking for financial services jobs, office based jobs, admin roles, graduate schemes, part-time work such as bar work or hospitality work? You really need to know exactly what you are searching for to make the process a lot easier.

You can now start looking for suitable roles in the sort of industry that you want to operate in. There are several different things that you can do in order to achieve this. One of the easiest would be to simply go through the entire process through a recruitment agency. They will assess your different skills and experience and then will find you work based upon what you are looking for.

You can also run through the process yourself and search for suitable jobs by your own steam. This will involve doing things like looking in local newspapers, checking online, and asking friends and family whether they know about any suitable roles.

Once you have come across a couple of roles that you think are suitable then you simply need to apply for them. Take down the contact details of all of the roles and apply by e-mail if possible. Send your CV to the right e-mail address and always add a covering letter explaining your experience and skills.

It may also be a good idea to follow up your e-mail with a phone call. This is just to make sure that they have received your correspondence. After this you simply need to sit back and wait for a reply. If it is positive then you can attend the next stage of the process, that being an interview. If it's negative then you simply need to continue your search.
