Public sector jobs are available in many professions and trades around the world. A public sector job is a job working for a government agency at any level. You can find a public sector job easily by search government websites or by using a local job board.

Every type of employment is available in the public sector. Many companies or organizations that you may not realize encompass this type of employment. Experience level is not an issue and you can find entry level positions throughout the government job postings.

You can begin by searching a particular agencies website to look for job openings. Because the government is so large, and the number of divisions so great, you may want to sign up to a job board that posts jobs in your particular field.

A job board will list positions, qualifications and requirements from available jobs in the government. Application processes will be explained and you can apply to as many divisions as you would like.

Since there are so many different required positions in the public sector, you may find that you can get the perfect job close to home. The park system, law enforcement, highway safety even the federal prosecutors office are just a few of the places that are continually hiring.

Search the internet for postings from a particular agency of visit a posting site. Many times there are agencies hiring that do not hire any other way except via the Internet.

State and local public sector jobs are easily found the same way. On a local level, you would benefit from visiting the city or county website directly. Most of these sites have an employment link that will take you through the application process. Depending on your state, you will likely need to go to a job board to find state level job openings.

Do not limit yourself to one agency. If you are seriously looking for work, apply to as many positions as possible so that you can get a larger response. There is no fee for looking at a government site or applying for their positions. Some job boards may charge a fee, but many are free for the job seeker.

There are several specialists Job Boards and online Job sites that specialise in these positions both in the UK and around the world. You are able to upload your CV to any of these, generally free of charge.
