In this article, let's discuss the top ten tips on how to increase traffic for your blog effectively:

)Use search-engine friendly URL. Some blogs automatically use your article's title as its page URL. This is great because search engines can easily pick them up and index it to its right category. Using symbols or punctuation marks such as "?" can confuse search engines, and can be a big hindrance in getting your site indexed.

)Ping your blog. Pinging is like notifying search engine spiders whenever you have new content in your blog. Some blogs like Wordpress provides and automatic pinging service for all its bloggers.

)Write quality content. Simply putting content in your blog is not enough. Instead, make sure that all your entries are interesting, informative and valuable. It only follows that if visitors to your blog enjoy what they read, they will keep coming back for more.

)Stick with what you know. Trying to discuss subjects that you yourself is not really knowledgeable at will not be very effective. People would like to learn new things and if all you have to share is something they already know about, then they will try find information from another source.

)Link your blogs. If you own different blogs, be sure to link them together. Do not forget that inbound links are important. It is also a great way of letting your audience transfer from each your blogs more conveniently.

)Spread your links in your comments. When commenting on other people's blog, take advantage of the URL field in exposing your links to more people. Just make sure that your comments are in good taste and are relevant to the topic.

)Submit to blog directories. There are many blog directories online that are free. Sign-up and you will see what a big difference it can make in your blog traffic. Take note that blog directories often require active participation from its members so be prepared to spend a few hours of your time each day.

)Never copy. It is a challenge to post fresh content in your blog everyday but do not be tempted to copy someone else's work. It can get you into serious trouble or get your blog permanently banned from the blog host and Google as well.

)Exchange links with other bloggers. If you enjoyed a certain blog, send a message to its owner and request if you can exchange links with him. Blogging is a friendly online community and almost everyone is willing to give their support to other bloggers.

)Use social bookmarking sites like netscape, Technorati, furl.net , Stumbleupon, digg, Delicious, etc. Posting in these bookmarking sites can dramatically boost your page ranking in just days. Best of all, these bookmarking services are free for all to enjoy.
