A business website is an efficient tool in achieving success in whatever field of business you choose. Yet, simply having a website isn't enough. In order to get your business website's fullest potential, it is important to lead more people to your site and turn those visits into conversion.

If you're still planning on creating a website for your business, what can you do to make it productive? If you already have a website, does it attract a large number of visitors? What is the conversion rate of your website? Do you think there are improvements that you can do with your site? Here are some tips on redesigning your site with no cost.

Make your website attractive using photos.

One of the most cost effective ways of adding attraction to your website is the use of great photos. Do not use blurry images. Choose only quality photos that depict true colors. However, make sure that your photos are not too large as too slow down the loading of your pages.

Ensure ease of navigation of your website.

Having to go through a lot of processes can be annoying for a user. For example, if you want people to subscribe to your newsletter, don't make them go through a lot of web pages, filling up information just to subscribe. An e-mail field with a "submit button" should be enough to make an easy subscription. The same is true for taking online orders from your customers. See to it that your customer does not have to open a lot of pages just to make an online order.

In addition, don't give your visitors a hard time working their way through your site. Put a bookmarking icon where a visitor simply has to click if he wants to bookmark your site. Place your bookmarking icon at the bottom or on top of each of your articles where it is clear to see.

If your website sells products, it would be great to have rollover or floating boxes, where people can simple point their mouse over to an item, to learn more details about the product. This way, the user doesn't to open a whole new window, or switch web pages to view the product details.

A search box is also a wonderful tool that helps a user find what he's looking for without difficulty. Just by typing a keyword, the user can view a corresponding list of results of products or services found in your site. Thus, the user doesn't have to go through every categories and sub-categories to find what he needs. Of course, arranging your content in different categories and in alphabetical order also contributes to your website's organization.

Provide a link that a user can just click on if he wants to send an inquiry, a complaint, or a suggestion via e-mail. Place the link where the user can easily see it. Lastly, make sure that all the links in your website are properly working. It is very annoying for a user to click on a link that captures his interest, only to find that the page does not exist.

Update your pages on a regular basis.

Updating a website is very important especially for business sites. It's also great to feature a different product for each month so people can get to see something new in your site with each visit. Provide fresh articles or information about topics that are related to your business. It would be great to offer a bonus, a freebie or a discount from time to time. Polls and contests also enliven a website and encourage visitors to your site to interact and give a share. All these can be used to give your website something new to offer each time.
