Web 2.0 has been very useful to online marketers as far as advertising online is concerned. Have you been using blogs, wikis, mash ups, social-networking sites, video-sharing sites, web applications, web based communities etc.? Then those are just few examples of Web 2.0. The question is, are you sure you are using it to your advantage?

Here are top ten tips on how you can improve your business using Web 2.0 technology:

1. Do extensive planning and preparation. Doing research about the concept you want to work on is very important. If you don't have enough ideas and knowledge about the site you want use, then ask around or browse the internet. There are a lot of social sites that you can create profiles on but some of them might not be suitable for your business.

2. Reach your target audience. In every business, especially if it's online, you should always consider how you can attract people to visit your site. Web 2.0 won't be much of a success if you're not reaching out to your target audience. Maintaining the bond between you and your customers is very important and one of the things that using Web 2.0 sites will help you to do.

3. Give good web content. Yes, you have the best design and it really attracts a lot of visitors, but when they get to read the content of your sites, they aren't satisfied. They can't seem to find relevant and interesting information in the content. That's why you should still focus on your web content and make sure that it has quality. Remember, the reason why people are visiting your site is to see if they could get information or ideas from your articles.

4. Limit your ads. As I have said, people visit your site to get information and interact online. That's the main concept of Web 2.0. Include ads that are significant to your site. Never put too many ads on a page. Many people find this irritating, also too many ads can make your site load slow

5. Take advantage of free blogs. Since blogs are a great way of interacting with other people, you can use it to promote your business without it costing you a single penny. Use free blog hosting sites like Blogger or Wordpress.

6. Connect to people. Better online interaction is one of the reasons why Web 2.0 was developed. Being part of the online community can help you gain more customers and build a strong relationship with them.

7. Make use of video and audio feeds. It will look more personal and sincere if you can include recorded videos and audio files on your website. It is a good way of reaching out to your target audience.

8. Make a definite schedule. Although Web 2.0 tools are very convenient to use, you need to make sure you add content to them on a regular basis otherwise you will lose your audience.

9. Learn from others. Remember that you should also interact with other internet users. In this way, you can learn more from them. They might have ideas that you haven't thought of. Lots of sites have forums and blogs that discuss Web 2.0. Never hesitate to ask for help. There is always something new on the web and interacting with other webmasters and merchants can help you learn more.

10. Be realistic. Patience is a virtue, so they say. Climbing to the top is never easy. The use of Web 2.0 is just one factor to help you rise to the top of the search engine rankings and gain more sales. Always keep in mind to do things correctly and put enough time and effort for your business to succeed.
