Blogs are easy and fun to use. There are many blogging platforms with Google and Wordpress being the most prevelant. I prefer Wordpress because of the ease of usage and the many options available as far as plugins, and widgets.
When you start a blog it is best to get your own domain name with your relevant keywords in it and pay for hosting yourself. This will give you complete control of your blog without the risk of it being randomly deleted for no cause.
When you decide it is time for you to make money with your blog you will have choices to make about how you make money with your blog.
You can sell other peoples product's that they deliver as this is one method of how to make money with a blog. When you decide to sell other people's products or services, this is known as affiliate marketing. You become an affiliate of the products owner and will receive a commission every time you make a sale. By being an affiliate you don't have the headache of creating products, delivering the products, and dealing with customer satisfaction.
Another method of how to make money with a blog is to have ads put on your site. Google adsense is one method of doing this. Every time you make a post on your blog google will install 2 or 3 relevant ads on your site. Every time someone clicks on a link for an ad you will make money.
You can also create several blogs and post original, current, relevant articles on your site and with good search engine optimization tactics on your website you will start getting traffic to your site and then you may want to sell the site. This is known as website flipping.
The main thing you will have to do in order to make money with a blog is to start getting traffic to your site. You need to use good search engine optimization on your website so the search engines will know what to target. You also need to get links pointing back to your site. These are known as backlinks. you can gain backlinks by commenting on blogs, submitting your url to website directories, and by writing articles with a link back to your site.
The use of relevant keywords is also crucial to gaining traffic. If you choose keywords that have too many searches you will not be able to compete with the big boys. If you select keywords with too few searches you may not have people searching for those keywords in the search engines.
