Adobe has created a number of different products over the year, it's most popular being the free Adobe reader which is well suited to PDF files. There are still a few individuals out there not privy to Adobe's line of graphic design software, two of it's more famous pieces being Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Today we are going to talk a bit about Illustrator and the types of projects that it is suited for.
The first thing we are going to address is the fact that Adobe Illustrator is not a CAD program. That being said, it should not be used to design your next house or prepare a building contract for the government. What it can be used for however is the creation of images.
For those who have used Photoshop, you understand that while it has many interesting features, it cannot be used to effectively create images. It can however edit them and add the finishing touches that you might need for either a client or for a presentation. As a tool for photo editing it can take any image that you design and render it in any theme that you wish. You might choose to create a cartoon, or you might decide to make a company logo. Regardless, you are going to find that Adobe Illustrator is without a doubt the best tool for that particular job.
The following are a few projects that you might use Adobe illustrator for on a daily basis:
-Creating a logo for your website
-Creating characters for a comic strip
-Presentation graphics
-Modifying an image you have already created
One of the key features associated with this software is your ability to 'color outside the lines'. This does not relate to being different, though there is nothing wrong with being different, but rather it refers to the accidental sloppiness that can occur in any drawing. Once you have established lines, the program will permit you to draw outside of them, but in the final render any drawing outside of those lines will be removed. This feature will permit you to work more on your artwork and less on editing every single mistake that you happen to make.
As you can see, this is an extremely valuable piece of software that you can utilize for business or for personal use. Either way it would be very helpful to own a copy and learn to use it at your earliest convenience. You never know just when you might need a piece of software that can help you to create artwork and edit it later using some of Adobe's other fine software.
Your designs can be award winning creative masterpieces that don't have to take forever to create when you know HOW to use the right tools effectively from an expert professional user. Learn more about the Adobe Illustrator through our Adobe Illustrator CS5 Classes.
