With today's economy, companies everywhere are tightening their budgets while still trying to maintain an edge on their competition. This can leave a quandary when it comes to training. Employees need to learn new information as well as have their current skills updated to stay viable in their jobs. Participants of the training usually open up more to an outsider who does not have direct influence over them in the workplace. Because these are outside trainers, they can often give a company a new perspective enabling them to provide sensitive feedback to senior staff. Outsider trainers are easier to replace if their training techniques are not effective.

Companies will always be thinking of ways to cut the costs of doing business regardless of the economy. Yet it is when the economy turns sluggish, the most innovative companies turn inwards, revamp the normal way they do business, and succeed against the odds.
