Whether you are new to the business world or are just revamping your company, finding a design idea can be fun. Here are some tips to finding logo ideas.

Online

Search online for keywords pertaining to your business to see what type of pictures come up. If you have a lawn care business you may find that pictures of grass or shrubbery always come up when you search the internet. Look at companies in your same field of business to see what everyone else is using. This can be a starting point. You can either choose to go with something similar to what everyone else is using, or you can go the complete opposite.

There are also many online companies that offer creative services. You may also be able to create your own logo for free or for a fee from some of the online companies that offer this service. There are even companies that will allow you to not only create your own, but have it printed on business and advertising materials. These logos can be unique to only you or you may choose a generic logo that you like, but that may end up being used by another company as well.

You may be able to find a freelance graphic artist who will create a custom symbol just for you. There are lots of websites that serve as a location to find freelance workers who will work for a fraction of the cost of a local brick and mortar graphic artist.

Offline

If you want to get offline and find a symbol just keep your eyes open for things that pertain to your business. Look on business signs and storefronts that offer similar products and services as you do. Many times there are elements of a design that are easily recognizable and are used in many variations by different businesses.

Ask a child. If you have children in your family or household, ask their perspective. This can be especially beneficial if you have an artistic child. They can often see things in a different perspective than adults and you may end up with a new and fresh emblem designed by your twelve year old.

Go to the museum and art gallery. You may find an abstract design that speaks to you and that you would like to use for inspiration. Both of these places are filled with created juices that may spark your creativity. In addition to your local museum and art gallery, you may also find inspiration at your local community college or high school. Schools often place the artwork of their students on display.

Take a trip to the mall. Clothing brands use signs and emblem designs that brand the company, but they also use a lot of graphic designs on their clothing. You may be able to find a design that you like and can modify to create a logo for your own company.
