Not all weddings are created equally. While most couples prefer to be married in a church or one of several wedding chapels located throughout the UK, others choose beach weddings or destination weddings. Seasonal weddings such as a fall wedding or a winter wedding are popular, and these days more couples are choosing to have a green wedding that is environmentally friendly from the wedding invitations to the wedding favours. Of course, when planning to use a civil wedding venue, it's vitally important that the wedding DJ and the company delivering the wedding cake are given the right location. It should also be reflected in the wedding cards as well. If a beach wedding is considered, make sure that the beach is clean and that there is room for the first dance and the wedding dance. Typically, the venue will provide an area for this, especially if they offer indoor facilities, as well.

Regardless of the location for the wedding ceremony or wedding reception, everything can be customized to the couple's liking including the wedding stationery. Most couples choose personalized wedding announcements and wedding invitations that complement their theme or colours. Wedding flowers like those in the wedding bouquets can be chosen based on the colour scheme or what's in season. Wedding accessories like the wedding guest book, wedding photography, and wedding decorations can be customized to fit the desires of each bride as can the wedding vows, music, and the wedding band.

Depending on the situation, a couple may choose to work with a wedding planner who will help plan everything from the bridal shower to helping the couple choose from hundreds of first dance songs and arranging first dance lessons. There are hundreds of beautiful civil wedding venues around the UK, and no matter which area of the country you're considering, there is always a venue nearby.

In Cornwall, consider using Arlington Court. Located in Devon, Arlington Court is a mansion that sits amid beautiful gardens and a wooded landscape. The Victorian décor is perfect for a traditional wedding, and the bride will look stunning descending the staircase built in 1865. The estate also includes a number of horse-drawn carriages that belong to the National Trust, and carriage rides are available upon request. March through October, though, weddings can only take place on Saturdays, while November and December weddings can be arranged at any time.

In Lincolnshire, Belton House is the civil wedding venue of choice. Built in the 1680's, Belton House has been used for filming several BBC series with period furniture from the 17th century and beautiful artwork on the walls. The house sits upon 35 acres of landscaped grounds, and weddings can be hosted on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as Fridays by request.

For a wedding in simple surroundings, consider a Lincolnshire wedding at Tattershall Castle. This venue, built in the 1440's, is a castle tower over 100 feet tall. It makes a startling backdrop, and the authentic Flemish tapestries look exceptionally beautiful in pictures.
