Learning how to convert a classic car to LPG fuel can be a complex but rewarding process. LPG or liquefied petroleum gas is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to conventional gasoline. It burns cleaner and reduces emissions of environmentally harmful substances like lead, sulfur and carbon. Conversion should only be attempted by someone who has a great deal of experience working on cars.

LPG fuel runs cheaper than regular unleaded gasoline so over the long run conversion to LPG can save money. It also helps protect the car from maintenance problems. More importantly it is a greener fuel that helps protect air quality by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The fuel efficiency of an LPG car is similar to that of a conventional automobile but the car burns cleaner.

Of course, if you have to pay a professional mechanic the costs are higher but still affordable. In either case, savings will accrue over the vehicle's lifetime in reduced maintenance costs.

Learning how to convert a classic car to LPG can be a lengthy and complicated process but it will improve the car's performance and life expectancy. However, the modification will bring some functional changes including reduced horsepower and slower acceleration, as well as the obvious benefits of running cleaner and greener.

Also bear in mind that it's not only classic car models that can be converted to LPG. Often, modern cars can more easily be converted to run on this greener fuel, and this is definitely worth looking into if you drive a gas guzzling petrol or diesel car.
