Every woman can look elegant and attractive provided she knows how to choose her outfit, and it doesn't even have to be with a personal stylist. Understanding her body type, in other words the flaws and feature of her body, will help her greatly in buying appropriate clothes.

Flaw areas in most people's bodies are where fats tend to accumulate the most. Nevertheless, for other people, it could be their overly skinny silhouette, or extreme tall or petite height, etc. You don't need a personal shopper to find the right outfit. Here are some tips of how you can find the best clothes for your type.

To know your specific body type, just stand in front of the mirror and have a look at your body from different angles: front, side and rear view. Then take note of the advantageous areas in your body as you'll want to buy outfit that highlight attention to those areas and in result divert the look from the less favored areas.

Here are the four most common body types:

Apple Body Type

Apple body type women have fat that tend to accumulate around their waistline area and therefore their legs and arms are relatively thinner than the rest of their body. If you have the Apple Body shape the following will help in making you look your best: Favor V-neck tops as they tend to divert the look upward, blouses that are slightly flare out on the stomach, wide short skirt, and boot cuts jeans in addition to long coats.

Pear Body Type

People that have the pear body type have fat that accumulate in the hips, thighs and legs. Pick patterned tops that attract attention to the upper body and tops with cowl or bateau necklines. Boot cut pants help in creating the appearance of a slimmer look and unsymmetrical skirt help in divert the look from the hips. Favor jackets that end just above the hip.

Hourglass Body Type

A very feminine body type! The Marilyn Monroe body shape: A well defined waist with curves in the upper and lower body. Show off your lovely waist with high-waist pants and skirts, wrap or cinched dresses. Thin and lightweight fabrics are also highly favored as they don't add extra bulk.

Rectangular Body Type

Women of this body type gain weight evenly throughout their body and therefore do not have defined curves as compared to other body types. Try to create curves with v-neck tops, defined waist jacket and dresses. Pleated skirts and baggy or loose ankle-length pants will also help in giving your hips some shape.

Finally, remember that the more you love yourself the way you are the more beautiful and attractive you'll appear to other people.
