There is a growing trend towards purchasing mobile or manufactured homes instead of brick and mortar houses. This may seem odd to many people who have always thought of owning a traditional house with a yard, but do not throw out the idea at your first glace. There may be some big advantages to buying a mobile home!

Who decides to buy a mobile home? Retired people may choose to sell their old house and then replace it with a mobile home. While this trend is more common with older people, some younger folks are also embracing the idea. There are advantages to owning a solid and fixed home, but there are also many disadvantages.

First of all, if you associate mobile homes with campers, you may be hanging on to an outdated notion. Some new mobile homes include a lot of space and luxuries that you would not expect. Some are nicer than houses.

Beyond the home iteself, if you park in a good place, you may be able to take advantage of a lot of amenities. Some mobile home parks have pools, recreation centers, swimming pools, and more. These perks may be much better than anything you can find in a neighborhood at a modest price!

It may still be hard to understand why home owners would deide to leave their houses for a manufactured or mobile home. Look at some of the advantages we have heard.

These days, everybody wants to save some money. The job market is slow and house prices are not rising. A new mobile home, with lots of luxuries, will be a lot cheaper than a modest brick and mortar house. This is one of the biggest advantages for many buyers.

They also cost less to repair and keep up. For example, it costs a lot less to replacce the roof of a mobile or manufactured home than it does to rebuild a traditional roof. You may be able to order and install replacement parts instead of having to hire a construction company. The expense of repairs and upkeep forces many people out of their houses.

You will not have to wait as long to move in either! It can take months to build a new home, and it can also take a long time to close on an older house. You can order your new manufactured or mobile home, and then you can move in days later.

While interest rates on loans may be hire than home mortgages, you may not have a lot of closing costs either. You may also be able to save on insurance.

Mobile home living also has some disadvantages. In some areas, prone to bad weather, safety may be a consideration. Some mobile homes are simple to move. But manufactured homes may need to be taken apart and hauled on a semi. Where houses are expected to appreciate, mobile homes may depreciate.

Mobile home living is not the best choice for everybody. But you should compare alternatives in order to find the best place for your family to live!
