Preserving our memories has become so much easier with technology. No longer do we need stacks of photo albums to keep the faces and lives our family members and friends available to us and to future generations. These days you do not even need to have a large amount of space on your hard drive to store digital files of photos taken with your trusty Nikon digital SLR camera. Instead you can just sign up for any of a wide array of web services that can hold onto more pictures than even the most active of us could expect to take in a lifetime. The result is nothing less than a complete anthropological record of the day to day goings on of you and your loved ones preserved for better or worse forever.

There is an oft repeated hypothetical question that fairly regularly has the same answer. If your house was burning down and you could save one item what would it be? In many cases people will say family photo albums. They value their memories and find the idea of losing all of this nu-reproducible material incredibly threatening to their family's history. It is understandable but as we have moved from film to cheap SLR digital cameras we increasingly do not even print up copies of these photos. Instead we upload them onto photo sharing sites or even simply put them on our social networking site of choice. There we can tag them and repost them in a wide array of places. The results are a strange occurrence. Photos that in a previous generation might have sat in an attic as one or two copies only to be preserved by one person are now spread our and available throughout a vast network of people. This means that even if one or two parties began deleting these Nikon SLR camera created memories they would still always exist somewhere. In centuries when our computers are excavated and explored to give clues of how we lived now this era will be among the most well documented ever, only being trumped by the over documentation of years in the future.

The boost of new Nikon cameras to making our memories more easily preserved is of course a bit bittersweet. We recall foggily all of the memories that were not so easily held onto. Loved ones lost to time and events we wish we had been able to look back at. The good thing in all of this is the future is starting to look bright, clear and always easily looked back upon.

The Camera Box sells refurbished Nikon cameras and refurbished Canon cameras for great prices. If you're looking for discount Canon digital cameras or the best Nikon cameras, the Camera Box can help.
