Birthday gifts may come every year without fail, but that doesn't mean the gifts are always good. When the same people are shopping for you year after year, are you really surprised that some years are just not as good as others? Some people have a natural flair for finding unique gifts that you actually love. Others have no qualms about settling for a gift card because the process will never end well regardless. People tend to know their gift giving roles, but that doesn't mean you should give up!

After a few decades of being on this earth, I began to realize that those truly awesome gifts came once every decade. Not to say the birthday presents I did receive weren't great. Because they were. They were always things I needed or wanted, but nothing ever jumped out at me. Nice gifts from nice people. And I came to terms with that. But I couldn't help but feel a small flutter of excitement as I opened each gift, anticipating something truly grand. My heart would sink just a tad as I opened up new shirts, electronic gadgets, and the occasional craft beer related item.

Last year was different though. That flutter in my heart didn't dissipate as I unwrapped the small box. Inside was something completely unexpected, a Movado watch. It wasn't a gift I was expecting at all. It wasn't even something I asked for. But my family was aware that I do enjoy a good luxury watch. If I leave home without a watch on, it won't be a good day.

The Movado watch was beautiful to say the least. A chronograph with three subdials, a stainless steel band, and a black skeleton dial face. It's cool and fresh and modern. Exactly my style. It's a watch of bold design without being over the top, exactly what I expect from a Movado watch. It looks beautiful with just about any outfit I wear, which is very important to me. I don't like switching between ten different watches a week. I prefer versatility. And because it's a Movado watch, I know the quality stands above the rest. It's a watch I'll be able to enjoy wearing for years to come, and it won't look dated either. The accuracy of the timekeeping is superb and I know it can handle being banged around a bit. Not that I plan on doing that! But just in case, it won't be scratched easily.

The Movado watch was a gift I didn't know I needed and I'm proud to be the owner of such a fine timepiece. Your friends and family members will feel the same. Be smart. Buy a Movado watch for your loved ones' birthdays.
