Prom is a night you can remember for the rest of your life. It's always fun (and often funny) to look back at the pictures of that night, the dresses, the hairstyles, the dates, the braces, and the hilarious dancing.

I can still remember my senior prom. The theme was movies. Specifically, the theme was old time Hollywood movies. Everything was decked out in style. There were movie reels hanging from the ceiling and film streamers everywhere. The photos were also in the old Hollywood movie style. There were clapboards, old movie camera props, and a red carpet runner.

The red carpet was one of the things that made us feel like movie stars. I think that feeling is important at proms. It's necessary for prom to be memorable and fun.

If you're planning a prom or you're on the planning committee, think about buying a red carpet for the affair. The feeling students get when they see it is of regal and glamorous nature.

If you're not sure about where to buy a red carpet you just need to take a look online. There are websites that can lead you in the right direction. Most of these websites will also sell or rent different colors and shapes to fill your event needs.

If you think that possibly the red carpet will be too expensive, try to make it do double duty. Use it not only at the prom itself but at the dress parade beforehand. A dress parade is where all of the students and their dates hold a sort of promenade for the parents so that they can take photos. It's also a good way to show off your rented tux or that dress that you spent so much time looking for! It's also nice for the parents to get as many photos as they'd like on the red carpet runner instead of in the living room in their house. Those make for awkward photos. If the students see their peers having a good time, they are more likely to loosen up and have a good time. Those make for the best photos.

You can also use it as a step and repeat photo opportunity at the school sponsored after prom party. A good red carpet runner can be used year after year if stored and cared for properly. So go ahead and buy a red carpet for prom and make it one to remember.
