The 20th century has seen the industry grow to the point that you do not have to be the most important person in your country or even super rich to afford diamond earrings, pendants, and the like. A man with a wife and two kids living in a single family home can just as easily afford a diamond ring for this wife as a anniversary present. With many diamond importing companies on the market the competition helps drive the prices down. And just as important to the relatively affordable prices of diamonds are the number of vendors vying for customers looking to buy something special for their significant others. Sales, discounts, and the like offer even more avenues for the average consumer to buy jewelry for their loved ones. Another popular saying is "Diamonds are forever."
