After some visits to the theme parks and other attractions of Orlando you may also want to relax and rejuvenate your body and a day spa is a great way to do it. There are many day spas in the Orlando area, but I would like to concentrate on the one that has been rated among Orlando's top tourist attractions, the Woodhouse Day Spa.
Woodhouse is actually a chain of spas with locations from New York in the East to Texas and Colorado in the West. The Orlando location (8060 Via Dellagio Way Orlando, Florida 32819 p. 407-965-3131) offers a variety of services including treatments for men and women such as facials, massages and body treatments in a Vichy shower. They also offer microdermabrasion, hand and foot treatments, and luxury baths.
The premises spans 6,000 square feet and features Victorian decor with 16 private guest treatment rooms, men's and women's quiet rooms, a duet massage room, bath and massage rooms and private pedicure rooms.
A nice feature is the "sani-jet" pedicure baths in private rooms. You can recline fully in these baths. Visitors are also impressed by the impeccable cleanliness of Woodhouse and the friendly staff.
They have a few specialty treatments such as:
Detoxifying Seaweed Wrap: This is a body treatment that begins with a dry brushing aimed at exfoliating the skin, detoxifying and reducing fluid. Essential oils are applied followed by a warm hydrating mask that delivers nutrients and moisturizing agents to the skin. The treatment ends with a scalp massage and a Vichy shower.
Minkyti Facial: This is a house specialty and is an anti-aging facial for all skin types. The object of the facial is to regenerate, oxygenate, clarify and stimulate your skin and this is accomplished with a combination of acupressure points and connective tissue massage techniques.
Seaweed Foot Facial/Organic Sugar Scrub Pedicure: This one is especially good after you have walked around all the theme parks! The treatment stimulates and softens tired and stressed feet. You get a massage performed with a sugar-crystal blend designed to promote circulation as well as remove calluses and rough skin. It also includes a warm volcanic stone foot massage and the treatment ends with your choice of polish.
Shirodhara Scalp Massage: This is an Ayurvedic (Indian) healing method. Your therapist pours a blend of warm oils on your forehead which helps you to release tension. This is followed by a relaxing head and scalp massage.
These are just some of the treatments and services offered by the spa. In addition to going as a single or a couple, the Woodhouse Spa is also ideal for corporate events and social events. Corporate team building parties, bachelorette parties, bridal showers and client outings are the type of parties that are hosted by Woodhouse Spa throughout the year. The spa also arranges for the food and drinks for these events in addition to the normal spa services.
So treat yourself and your loved one to a spa experience when you are vacationing in Orlando. You will return home refreshed and rejuvenated
