Most prospective visitors to Orlando figure that they will get their best thrills and fun at Disney World, Universal Studios and other big name entertainment centers, but there are other unsung attractions in the Orlando area that are highly rated by vacationers and local residents alike.

One of these lesser known attractions is the Funspot Amusement Park. It is a first class amusement park, with a three level go-kart track, a 101-foot high Ferris wheel, bumper cars and bumper boats, and a giant arcade.

What most visitors to Funspot enjoy is that the prices are cheaper than Disney World and at the same time there is plenty of action to keep you busy for several hours.

You will find four different Go-Kart tracks for older kids, plus a couple for very young children. The bigger Go-Karts also include two-seaters for the young ones that can't ride alone yet.

In addition to the go-karts you will find carnival rides, bumper boats, bumper cars, a giant Ferris wheel and other rides too.

You can buy an unlimited pass that allows you to come and go as you want all day and it allows you to go on all the outdoor rides as many times as you want plus play all the video games in the arcade.

While there are many things to do at Funspot, the big attraction is the Go-Karts. Once your kids try them, and get hooked on them, you may be spending more time there than you planned. Some families enter at 11 am and depart at 11 pm. With the unlimited day pass, you can also go out and eat and then return as you like.

Some visitors to Funspot describe it as Orlando's best kept secret, and this is probably the reason why there are no long lines, and you can ride on the Go-Karts to your heart's content for hours without wasting your time waiting to get on the rides. If you are not into Go-Karts and bumper cars then this park may not be the best fit for you, because the arcade games are not quite state-of-the-art.

An unlimited pass costs around $35 per person and if you come in a group of ten or more you can get a rate of $25 per person, and this includes unlimited riding on all Go-Karts tracks, thrill rides, family rides and kid spot rides plus unlimited play in the arcade with more than 60 games. Kids must be 52 inches tall to ride on the Go-Karts.

If you want to hold a birthday party at Funspot they offer flexible packages. You can have a birthday party in which participants get an unlimited pass to the arcade, the rides or the Go-Karts or even all of the attractions. Birthday parties have to be booked 72 hours in advance.

The food at Funspot is the normal amusement park fare, pizza, sodas and should be enough to satisfy most kids.

So, if you have some Go-Kart enthusiasts in your family then definitely make it a point to visit Funspot and add a bit of extra time to your planned visit there, because you will probably need it. You can contact the Fun Spot Action Park at 5551 Del Verde Way, Orlando, Florida 32819, telephone 407-363-3867
