In order to give yourself the best chance for success with an internet business, you must first know your market. In fact, before you even choose what market to go into, you need to determine whether or not that niche market will be profitable.

In order to find out if it is even worth your time or not, there are a few things you need to know right off hand. Here's a brief run down of what you should ask yourself first.

Is your prospective customer experiencing pain or discomfort? If you have a solution to their pain or know of a way they can help themselves, it will be much easier to sell to them.

Is this person in need of something urgent or have an irrational passion? Certainly there are plenty of people who are dealing with passions and hobbies that make them spend extraordinary amounts of money on impulse products.

For example, take a look at the broad niche of gambling. People that play games for money most likely wouldn't think twice about buying a product that would make them more money. Sell them a product that gives them advice or a strategy on winning.

Both of these questions address the need to sell a product or service to a target market that has a strong emotional motivator. If you can do this effectively you will find yourself a profitable niche. However, lets dig down a little deeper just to ensure that we can make money in it.

Are there people in this niche who are proactively seeking remedies? You want to make sure that you are dealing with a hungry niche. Not only do they have pain or a problem, but they want a solution to it now. It also helps to know that this group is searching for the answer at all times of the year.

Does this target market have little to no options to choose from? The sale becomes much easier when you know that you not only can relieve their problem right away, but that your product or service may be their only option.

If it's one of just a few options, a good sales technique would be to make sure that you let them know what their other options are and how your product is their best choice.

You can see how effective these questions are in asking whether or not a niche market is going to be profitable. The next part after addressing these questions is getting your product to that market before anyone else does. Outsource your work to qualified people and it will make your life much easier and more profitable.
